Fog Dude
Oh right, you mean the Fantasy League? Well played, in that case. We haven't done regular updates on that this season but now it's all over, guess it can go in this thread since we don't seem to have a separate one. Didn't even make it to the final of any of the Cups in that either. Triple captained Son in the penultimate round, basically guaranteeing he'd miss that gilt-edged chance on Tuesday night. Fog Dude
It's my thread and I'll double post if I need to. Since it's the end of the season, feel free to ignore the tags and round up how you did in the Fantasy League if you like. I finished 14th in the Chippy Tea League and 17th in the other 'Keff one. Was sixth among mates from school, also dropped to sixth on the final day in another forum's league and a shockingly low 13th among family members who play. I got 2,126 points in the end, making my absolute minimum target of 2k points with a few weeks to spare but then suffering a catastrophic last couple of matchdays. Anyhow, the results went into the first post on Sunday night and the table was then updated as well. The only movement was down to Stinky not playing, as Tilde and top scorer Vegeta both leapfrogged him. The latter is the sole participant into double figures, but it's also worth a mention that Chutney Spoon got two exact scores right when nobody else did. At 17 points adrift, that's probably too much of a gap to close now, but he might as well play the last round and make it over the 300-point mark. At the summit, MVP RULZ is now just half a dozen points behind leader Rory. No bonuses next week, but there are 54 ordinary points to play for instead of the usual 30 so it's all to play for. And, uh, no bonus points this time either since the 'wildcard' fixture was match #10, Inter v Lazio, where a draw caught everyone out. The other Italian outcome was a dud too since no-one thought Torino would manage a home win. Elsewhere, necessary victories for Arsenal (dodgy as that last-minute handball was), Forest, Man City men & women and Chelsea Women – though the last of those was by a way bigger margin than expected – all proved fruitful. The two play-off final winners were a surprise to most, while a rare success on the road for the Cottagers who had nothing much to play for yielded only two correct guesses. Right, next season shouldn't be as awkward with the Cup final falling on the penultimate week so everybody knows what they have to do to qualify for Europe, and which stage they'll enter, instead of having 3 teams in limbo as we do at time of writing. That format's also easier for us in terms of finding suitable matches for the last card of the campaign, but I've managed to cobble something together, so look out for that in the opening post shortly.
