Paid Members Nostalgia Nonce Posted March 26, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 26, 2017 Shave your pods and cover them liberally in Vaseline before applying the plaster of Paris.
CavemanLynn
Don't you need a subject, an agenda, a microphone and a PC before you start thinking about apps? Or have I misunderstood the OP?

Daaaaaad!
From personal experience, I wouldn't say that you can't do it with just an iPhone, but it's probably not going to be any good if you do. Why wouldn't you do it through a computer?
Paid Members Teedy Kay Posted March 26, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 26, 2017 If recording through an iPhone you'll have to get one of those Don King wigs for it that every other local football reporter has for audio capture.
mikehoncho
Recording a podcast on any phone is going to result in crap quality, even with a wind cover (Don King wig thing). Â Editing will be a bitch too. Â PC/desktop/Mac, with a good USB mic (Blue Snowball minimum, but the Blue Yeti is highly recommended), then a good editing/multi-track suite which can export to MP3. Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted March 27, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 27, 2017 Just use a computer. It's going to be an arse on to edit audio on an iPhone alone, not to mention the storage limitations.
CavemanLynn
By all means, record on the phone, but edit on a computer. You'll need a title/intro track and no doubt other effects and music to seque between segments and edits. Don't rely on your interviewee being stunningly charismatic and giving you nothing but uneditable gold. Cut out the waffle smoothly, begin and end well, and it'll come off much more professional. Arthur B. Funky
I'm happy to advise if you want; been doing audio production since 1989, analogue & now of course digital. I think I have experience enough to be able to help.  PM me if you want. Paid Members mim731 Posted March 29, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted March 29, 2017 I've done plenty of podcasts, but normally over skype, but looking to do one next week in person with about 4-5 people around a table. If I got a Blue Yeti and my laptop is this likely to be enough, or do I need to get a mixer and a second mic? My knowledge on this is a bit patchy.
