d-d-d-dAz Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I can't recall such a quick succession of deaths of genuine pop culture giants before. Ā Lemmy, Bowie and Rickman is a pretty huge combined loss for the arts.
wp2012 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Apologies for starting a shitty topic - please feel free to delete, Lemmy, David Bowie and Alan Rickman have been some of my greatest heroes, Die Hard is one of my favourite films and David Bowie is one of my favourite artists of all time, I was a bit drunk when posted it, and I'm sorry for putting a crap topic on here, David Bowie death hit me really hardĀ

METAL ON METAL Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 This one is really tough to take. The Eagles really got me into wanting to be a musician, their back-catalogue is just incredible and to me is just music played to its perfection. Ā I wasn't so keen on his brash personality at times but by God was he a talented musician and a true rock star. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I urge you to go watch their 1977 show in Washington, DC (of which the famous Hotel California video is taken from). Ā This year really is terrible already.
Undefeated Steak Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 RIP. Yeah, the Eagles were up there with the very best bands. They dominated my 'most played' tracks when I used to use iTunes. Another great gone.
Pier Six Brawler Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 This is going to be happening a lot in coming years. So many big names from the heyday of pop and rock music are getting up there in age, and so many of them lived so hard through their 20s and 30s that they aren't going to live to old age.
