Guest
I cant remember any of his matches but any time Eugene made an appearance, I'd normally go do somethin else. I know he was for the kids but still.. its fuckin marketable downs syndrome.... Â I remember the 2006 ECW One Night Stand, where he comes out before the RVD/Cena match, starts talking about how much he loves ECW while fans viciously booed then Sandman comes out and beats the shit out of him. Of all the people you could book to have Sandman repeatedly twat with a cane, they went for the most pointless and uncomfortable option out there

King Pitcos
Eugene was a tremendous gimmick at first. The question is, where can you go with it? Â If every single piece of fantasy booking of Eugene on the Internet from the year 2004 is to be believed, the most profitable destination was him going "Hahaha, I'm not a jellyhead, I fooled you all! I am a SERIOUS WRESTLER and now there are NO GIMMICKS NEEDED!"
Moderators PowerButchi Posted June 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 11, 2015 Which of course would have meant that he was working his own Uncle Eric for years that he was retarded and that the rest of the family never let him in on the secret. Â Fantasy booking is usually more fantasy than booking, and even more usually very very bad.
Guest
Eh, thought it was just the purest of pure shit from day 1. I love a good Regal segment but not even that saved Eugene for me. only Bischoff's complete disdain for his relative was mildly amusing

Wrestling is about knowing your audience, and for the ECW fans both in attendance and watching that show who had spent their whole fandom thinking that the WWF/WWE was full of stupid characters that were making a laughing stock of wrestling, Eugene was the ideal character for Sandy to lamp. Nobody's cheering for "Sandman beating up the mentally handicapped guy," they're smarkishly going mental for "the ECW stalwart beating up a annoying lame character from the big company." As an annoying smark myself, I thought it was great.

Doctor Whos Next
I wouldn't say Duggan was useless.  For one thing, you always saw plenty of foam 2x4's in  the crowd.  Duggan was so over, he got kids to spend their pocket money on strips of foam with his name on.  I daresay they helped to put Steph through college.   In his WWF heyday,  Duggan was a big bloke, not an Adonois, but knows how to have a scrap. He won't take any bullshit of managers, which is why he has the lump of wood,   He'd get the crowd into his matches.    Feud wise, you need someone like Duggan to take a kicking from the rising heels to give someone like Hogan or Bret a reason to get revenge. He was also good in getting new/recently turned babyface acts over by literally giving them his thumbs up.   He wasn't perfect... he probably wasn't suited to be a WCW US Champion, and he's never a match of the year candidate, but I don't think he was useless during his first WWF Run.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted June 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 12, 2015 Michael Cole in everything he's done in WWE Â Considering what he's expected to do (Talking ad pages, not allowed to use pronouns, be the voice of Vince's better side, make time to actually call the match) I think he does a pretty good job all things considered. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted June 12, 2015 Author Paid Members Share Posted June 12, 2015 Cole was an internet darling back in 2003. In 2015 I cant think of anything worse than listening to Taz and Michael Cole do commentary, but at the time they were fantastic. They were like a proper sports announce pair. People seem to forget this now, but Cole was way better than JR at the time. JR was a rambling cliché ridden old piss head on commentary during those years. Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted June 12, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted June 12, 2015 Given how heavily over produced WWE is in 2015, you can imagine the sort of restrictions and pressure Vince and Dunn put on all the announce team. Â Cole earned his wage for the first few months of that Lawler feud, before Vince decided to stretch it out well past its peak.
LEGIT
Brian Christopher when he came back in 2004. Looked so out of place, and I think his first match was getting squashed off Kane. He only lasted one month.
