New content for the network on the cheap

Have read a few complaints about there being a lack of new content on the network, but also that wwe are cost cutting and don't want to spend much on new shows.

What ideas do people have for low cost content for the network?

I'd like to see more under card guys get promo time in short interviews, could be segments filmed on their phones on the road, them at gym, how they eat in the road, their days off. Wouldn't take long to edit into a show, and never know where the next breakout could come from ala cenas bus rapping.

Thoughts?

Theres soooooo much historic content that they have, that needs to be uploaded, before more modern kak. I just assumed that the costs to edit and server space is the issue.

This would be the same for any show.

The process of digitising everything is problem a massive time sink as well.

Best interviews ziggler has ever done are the ones where he interrupted Ryder's show. Most phones film in hd, and could be shown for what they are. With concentration on headliners getting all interview time, teams like head cheese would never get over in this era :(

Aye, but it surely depends on who is editing and producing the content though.

Theres no way they would allow for a phone cam recording to make official content. In fact theres more chance of them recording with hi tech cameras and then producing it to make it 'look like' it was candid or off the cuff.

New Legends of Wrestling roundtable shows would be cheap as chips to make and that's the sort of content I like. They have plenty of legends knocking about these days that would be good for the panel. Hogan, Nash, Hall, X-Pac, DDP, Jake, Hayes, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, Flair, Dusty, Lawler, JBL, the list goes on. All these guys are a lot of fun to listen to. Even if they only knocked out a new episode once a month, that would be worthwhile and make you feel like it's something new you're getting for that month's subscription.

They should make a cheap light-hearted panel quiz show too. Have two team captains, with two guests on each team. Piece of piss to write and produce.

I would watch a show that featured wrestlers showing you their workouts too.

Austin really should have some sort of Network deal, he should have his own show at least, he was fantastic with Tough Enough and his Podcasts have been a good watch, having Austin chair a roundtable discussing anything would be excellent, especially as he holds court a hell of a lot better than Mene Gene or JR did.

Another show that would be relatively cheap to produce would be a career talk through. Invite the wrestler of the week into the studio, and talk through their career, showing important angles and matches with their commentary over the top.

The regular round table idea is as good as any.

They could look at what's popular on YouTube. Have Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Ryder and those guys doing voiceovers on console games against each other. Prank videos are popular. "WWE RIBZ~" where JBL and his mates go around ribbing other wrestlers and staff. They could do a monthly inspirational TED talk thing at a local college or uni and film that. Current and past WWE stars giving motivational speeches.

How about a "WWE DUZ OTHA SPORTZ" (not XFL) series. Mini WWE Olympics.

Alternate commentary tracks for old PPV's with wrestlers who were there at the time and even with new talent who were fans.

Anything like that though, where they use the staff they already have at their disposal, tap into some of that podcast audio/video format. If three blokes in Ireland can do OSW Review, why can't the biggest company in the world pump out similair content.

Love the alternate commentary idea. People seem to wildly underestimate how much a 30/60 minute show of new video content costs, but recording audio tracks over old matches could be cheap as chips. Just choose a TV day and stick Ziggler, Miz and Ryder (or whoever) in there to talk over an old match for twenty minutes, then swap them out for Paige, Bryan and Ryback or whatever. Get JBL and Cole in to do one of the JBL-Eddie matches. JBL and Cena talking over their WrestleMania or I Quit match would be great.
