David
Am I the only one who thought that while Bisping won under the actual judging rules, Anderson won the actual fight? Sure, Bisping threw more, moved more, and did all the things he always does, but Anderson basically smacked him at will. Any time Anderson wanted to stop dancing and throwing arm shapes and actually hit Bisping there was fuck all that Mike could do about it. I'm the exact opposite to you Jim, I'd have given Anderson the fight under Pride rules. His punches and kicks did more damage, and he looked far more threatening when coming forward. His downfall is that he's 40 now, and his reactions aren't as sharp as they once were. He can't slip as many punches as he used to, and for that reason alone his fighting style is disastrous against anyone with punching power. As for title shots? Neither of them really belong in that mix at this stage. Anderson would be dangerous as he always is, but he'd get caught like has of late, and a power puncher would take him out. As for Bisping? Fuck me, why would anyone want to put the guy through another fight with Luke Rockhold? He got demolished last time. Last night was a perfect stage for Bisping to call it a day. He's not going to get much better than a win against the greatest of all time in his home country. The guy has one good eye and fuck knows the kind of toll that fight will take on his chin moving forward. That knee was astounding, and the front kick? Jesus? jimufctna24
I get what you mean. After the first two rounds, it was Anderson who did more damage and looked the more likely to finish the fight. However, I feel Bisping got the best of most of the fight. Other than a decent flurry at the end of the round, Anderson didn't do much in the 4th. I felt Bisping bossed that round after a quiet opening. If you add up time spent in control of the fight, I think Bisping wins. It's all subjective though. Plus, a lot of the damage that Silva inflicted was weighed by the knee at the end of the 3rd round. It was a legal blow, and Bisping needs to rethink how he deals with such situations in the future. However, Bisping was a sitting duck, and I'd have hated the fight to end that way. Edit: I agree that Bisping should call it a day. He has nothing more to prove. Given this latest victory, his impact on British MMA, and his high quantity of wins inside the UFC - I wouldn't scoff at him being inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame. David
Why he didn't retire then & there is beyond me. He's got a family, a comfortable life in the US, a decent gig doing analysis for the UFC, and he's just beaten the greatest fighter of all time on home soil. Where does he go from there? Another crushing loss to Luke Rockhold? Surely to fuck he has to start thinking about his health. Even though he won that fight he got fucked up big time. You don't take a kick or knee like that and walk away from it unscathed, especially at his age. Plus, his eye is fucked. There's nothing else for him to prove. d-d-d-dAz
I think at this point he just wants a title fight, regardless of whether he wins or not. He seems to care about getting what he thinks he deserves. Unfortunately, at this point, Rockhold could probably face Bisping first on the same card he fights Weidman. And that's a real shame, because a guy who was part of the early-ish days of the UFC, a pioneer for the European and UK UFC scene, deserves to go out on a high. Last night was that opportunity. Now he'll likely retire on a crushing loss to Luke Rockhold or Chris Weidman in Vegas.
seanz25
From what I saw (Fight pass had its one major issue of the night during this one) but Tom Breeze was dissapointng in his win over Nakamura which is a shame. Guy looked a killer.
David
Most of the undercard was disappointing to be honest, with the exception of Timu Pakinen. He looked fantastic with his flying knee and submission win.
d-d-d-dAz
Scott Askham nearly broke his leg on his opponents face. I nearly forgot that. Rough KO. That Marlon Vera kid performed an incredible heel turn last night too. They told the story of him being a Gi jits guy who hates fighting but does it to pay for his daughters treatment as she has an illness that stops her making facial expressions and he just wants to see her smile. THEN he fought like an utter cunt, to the point where I thought Marc Goddard was gonna knock him out himself.

Rough KO.That was one of the most beautiful KO's I've ever seen tbf. In the other prelims, Arnold Allen looked impressive and Davey Grant was in a fun fight. pryko
Regarding the "KO" of Bisping at the end of the 3rd, there was no way Herb Dean was stopping that if it was a minute earlier. Silva hit Bisping, he went down, and Bisping was sat there, seemingly fully aware, looking at Herb Dean as if to say "What the fuck did you let him do that for?" seanz25
Agree with that Pryko, Bisping was definitely still aware. One thing that irritated me slightly regarding the mouthguard was Silva earlier in the fight asked Bisping to stop for a second when he caught his eye without the ref doing so, Bisping agreed to, same happened with the mouthguard, all be it slightly different situation in the fight but Silva took no notice. Bit of give and take really IMO.
METAL ON METAL
I totally agree, Wand. The immediate rematch is unneeded, but sadly it's already been confirmed.Where? No doubt it will be, but I can't find anywhere that it has been yet. I can't remember if it was Anik during the Dana interview or Gooden after the Dana interview, but one of them definitely said Rockhold/Weidman at UFC 199. That being said, Gooden also said that Thales Leites fought Anderson Silva at the infamous Abu Dhabi show, when really he fought him in Montreal. Paid Members lambyUK Posted February 28, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted February 28, 2016 The one thing that I found most concerning for Silva is that his chin seems to be completely gone. He was dropped twice by two shots that didn't have too much behind them.
seanz25
I also need to add I have no desire to ever see Mousasi fight again, boring asf.

He was dropped twice by two shots that didn't have too much behind them. Well, most folk will get dropped when hit flush the way he was, but most folk wouldn't put themselves in that position. He's simply too old to implement that kind of fighting style I think. In a way he got off lightly due to the fact that Bisping doesn't hit hard.
