Swift89
It's only due to his marketability that he is getting this fight. There aren't many who have three losses on the trot and aren't cut. Due to how TUF 1 pretty much saved the company, Dana has said on more than one occasion that Forrest and Stephan have jobs with the UFC for life.  Also Bonnar only lost 3 in a row and the third was due to an inadvertent headbutt, so didn't really count. There aren't many who have three losses on the trot and aren't cut. Â there aren't any who have lost 3 on the bounce and walked into a main event! Â For my money's nobody's survived after 4 straight losses. Stevenson being the most recent to go.
The Cum Doctor
This has been posted on the ESPN facebook and it's certainly relevant here... Â *UFC Update* Over the past two years, ESPN has shown UFC main events & preliminary bouts for our viewers & fans of the sport. We have recently been informed that we are not able to continue to show some live UFC content on our channel. We & the UFC are working to find a solution to this as we understand your concerns. ESPN continues to televise UFC main events and provides coverage of UFC and mixed martial arts online at ESPN.co.uk & ESPN.com, & on TV via MMA Live. Thanks for your patience. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted August 11, 2011 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 11, 2011 Probably be on the UFC website then. I'm glad we still get to see it at least, but I hate watching full events at the computer. Especially when I'm paying for ESPN specifically for UFC. Â They should try and get it on Channel 5. It might not do great numbers at 2am on a Sunday night but I'm sure more people would watch that than that fucking Super Casino/Roulette bollocks. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted August 11, 2011 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 11, 2011 People seem to think that unlike Johnson, Lytle will just want to stand and bang. I'm not convinced, and think he'll be sending Hardy packing.  Yeah, this is my thinking with this fight. It all depends if Lytle fights smart. I think if he stands then Hardy has a decent shot at winning a decision. If Lytle decides to grapple I think he'd hold the advantage. People think Hardy's untappable after the GSP fight but he's lost a few by submission in his career. Obviously he could have improved since then but I think Lytle could possibly catch him in a choke or grapple his way to a decision.  Even on the feet, Lytle could win. Especially if it becomes a brawl, that's Lytle's style. If Hardy can stay at a distance and get his strikes off that's his best bet but Lytle could do some damage with his brawling style.  I just think Lytle has more ways to win this fight. Maybe Hardy has a trick up his sleeve but on past performances I'm going with Lytle by decision.  They both belong to the rough house gym  They're really close mates aswell, they pretty much started in MMA together, travelling around the gyms together when they were both skint. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 11, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted August 11, 2011 The only way i see Hardy winning is by decision. Theres no way he's ko'ing Lytle. Hardy's ko power tag is a myth.
Magnum Milano
The only way i see Hardy winning is by decision. Theres no way he's ko'ing Lytle. Hardy's ko power tag is a myth. A quick glance at his record shows that of Hardy's 23 victories, only three have been by KO (Barrow, Reiner and Markham). Another interesting thing is that Reiner is the guy that Anthony Johnson faced in his UFC debut; Johnson KO'd him in 13 seconds, it took Hardy until half way through the third round. Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted August 11, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted August 11, 2011 They need to sort this problem out. Watching it via stream on a laptop was not what I had in mind ESPN are shooting themselves in the foot if they don't get this sorted, bound to be a money thing. Â Yeah I remember before the GSP fight people were saying 'if Hardy lands one clean shot GSP is fucked'. I like Hardy but there was nowt to base that on really. I think he just does such a good job talking himself up it fools some people into thinking he's better than he actually is. Â Sunday's event is being shown live on Facebook. Â I'll be honest I'm a bit annoyed at this. I know we're still getting to see it but when you subscribe to a channel for the sole reason that they're the 'home of UFC' and you'll get all UFC programming on one channel it's a bit of a pisser when they don't show events and you have to make do with streams. Â I try not to be negative but internet streams or a big TV? Who the fuck is gonna choose the streams? Hope they sort this out soon.
Swift89
Will just have to download it first thing in the morning. HD versions are available very quickly so won't be an issue. I'll just watch Summerslam whilst it's downloading.
Tommy Atkins
What UK time will it start? Are Facebook showing prelims or just the TV stuff?
Swift89
From UFC_UK Twitter:  We regret ESPN has declined to license fight, which falls outside their current agreement, so Hardy fight will be free and live on UFC.tv  It will be available on demand for a week after the event. iamtheman
im always working saturdays and sundays so i usually miss the events any way. sky + makes up for it usually and i suscribe to ESPN more for UFC than the football so this is annoying. going to have to try my best to avoid spoilers and catch it some time monday afternoon
