KFR42
I've got a Desire HD on Orange. Love the phone. Was trying to use the sat nav function the other day. Trying to get from Cov City Centre to Stoneleigh. The phone refused to get a GPS lock. Even when it did get one it lost it fairly quickly. This seems to be a recurring problem. Anyone else experienced similar? Â Have you got the latest firmware? As in the one which was released a month or so back? A lot of people complained about GPS issues (I didn't have any myself) but claim it was fixed by the most recent firmware.
Jas
I'm looking to get a new phone, and want to stay with Android so the Galaxy II, Xperia Arc or Desire HD are the ones I'm looking at. However, a lot of people have got Blackberrtw these days and its got me considering them. What's the deal with Blackberrys? Why do so many people swear by them?  Due for an upgrade soon - all signs point to the Galaxy SII, from the reviews I've read (and I've read a lot) this is THE standout phone in a very crowded marketplace filled with quality phones.  HTC Sensation would be my second choice.  BTW - Anyone else not own a single product by Apple? Or is it just me?

Paid Members BigJag Posted August 30, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Have you got the latest firmware? As in the one which was released a month or so back? A lot of people complained about GPS issues (I didn't have any myself) but claim it was fixed by the most recent firmware. Â It's running Android 2.3.3. If anything the GPS worked better before the recent update. Â Did some checking online. Downloaded an app called GPS status. Ran it. Navigation seems to be working fine now. Gets a GPS lock within a minute. All the GPS status app seems to do is find the available satellites. Not quite sure what it has done to fix the problem. KFR42
Just thought I'd alert those wrestling fans here with android phones or tablets that theres a newish app on the market called pocketmags. Its a e-magazine reader. But if you download it theres a handful of free mags. One of the freebies is an issue of wwe magazine from a few months back. Of course you can buy the newest issue as well, but I was only interested in the freebie!
Steve Justice
My son wants a Blackberry for Christmas. He said he wanted the Bold 9900, but knew we couldn't afford it so asked for the Curve 8520 instead. It is much more in our price range, but it looks shit. After searching quite a bit last night we found the 9360, it looks to be the model inbetween the other two, but still a little out of our price range. Cheapest I've seen is
