22. But I think they have an actual MP as well.

Actually, it took a while to find it as it seems the media tends to ignore the Green Party.

Oh, sorry, I was going by the BBC's live update thing but obviously not every part of the UK was voting. My bad. You're a Green Party guy these days, right?

Nah, the last time I read the Green Party manifesto it seemed well meaning but impractical. I was wondering about how many seats they have as I wanted some perspective on just how important UKIP's newly acquired council seats were in the grand scheme of things.

Perhaps more disturbing than the actual votes secured by UKIP in the local elections is the statement made by David Cameron afterwards that the 'Tories have to "work really hard to win back those voters" who switched from Conservative to UKIP.

He claims the Conservatives "hear the message, we get it, we understand what people are saying."

Fucking hell.

6.7% at the last General Election, up 4% from 2005 which was the first time they ran. It looks like a safe Tory seat - Evans hasn't got less than 50% there since 1999. Last time out, Tories and UKIP both gained while Labour and Lib Dems both lost, so it took a big swing to the right. UKIP won't win it and I really doubt the Tories would lose it, but if some anti-Tory sentiment brews, UKIP could make enough of a dent in the Tory vote to make a very safe seat look a lot more precarious.

I've just found out there's going to be a public meeting about the Bedroom Tax (yes, I know it isnlt actually a tax) in the building I work in. I was really pleased because although I've been at a few in the surrounding areas the area where I work and live hasn't had a public meeting or information event as yet. However, I then found out that the woman who was in booking the room to have the meeting was stirring up support for it by telling people that Muslims are exempt if they decide to class a spare bedroom as a prayer room. Fucking hell.

I see UKIP leader Nigel Farage had the opportunity to meet face to face with what some of us up here in Scotland call the TopShop Socialists;

The leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage has described protesters who confronted him in an Edinburgh pub as 'fascist scum'.

Mr Farage had to be given a police escort through an angry crowd as he tried to take his party's anti-EU message to Scotland.

The Ukip leader was holding a press conference in Edinburgh's Cannons Gait pub when protesters started to arrive and heckle him, before police cleared them out.

A hostile demonstration then started outside the pub, to shouts of
