Woodhouse/Bunting/Asp, £10 at 4/1.

Bah! Fell at the first. As soon as he missed those doubles for the first two legs, his head was in the bin. Rock didn’t really have to do a lot, just plodded along and that was enough.

I’ll go with Dobey, Gilding, Gando and Heta this afternoon, then Searle, Wade, Ratajski and [no comment] tonight.

Yeah, was a shocker! A different beast, being on a big stage in a big tourney. Just like Zonniveld, who bottled it completely when the pressure was on, and somehow Dirk bottled it too but still won. Yet another tourney where Dobey has done jack shit. Gilding didnt show up either, which was good news for MVG.

Gando was unbelievable, but you know he could show up next round and have a 90 average. Clayton showed the bottle and scraped through, which is a sign of why hes top ranked. Maybe its something that you are just born with, is bottle when the pressure is truly on.

Incredible match between Littler and Asp. Littler with a 9 darter in the opening leg, he missed the double for another one in the fourth leg. Followed up that first leg by nearly taking out the 170.

A fantastic 170 checkout from Aspinall to keep in the game with Littler on D5 but it wasn’t enough. Littler with the second highest average at the Matchplay now.

Yeah absolute belter that. Really enjoyed MVG-DVD as well. Looked for all the world that van Gerwen was on a roll when he came back from 8-4 down, so fair fucks to Dirk for digging in.

Stuart Pyke insulting Laura Turner saying “this is like you vs me!” after the early Bunting-Rock shenanigans. Regardless of how dull her commentary is, pretty sure a women’s series mainstay like Turner wouldn’t have much trouble beating you in a match, Stu…

Was a great first half to the Matchplay tourney, and then most stuff from the Quarters onwards was OK but nothing great.

What can you say about Littler? Surely the best tournement ever from a player. Crazy how he kept the level all the way through. Was unstoppable. Doesn't make for the best of the back end of the tourneys though, as it was so inevitable that he was winning.

With the exceltion of Dirk, this was still mostly the old guard showing how its done. Price, Wade, Anderson, etc, still knowing what it takes to win.

GVV was really strange through this one. He looked really average for most of it, but still went far. The first half of his Wade match was so bad, it sucked the lift out of anyone watching.

A real shame for Cam Menzies to fight so hard for a spot in this, and for it to end up with him withdrawing.

Nijman has to be so annoyed that he didn't go deeper into this, looking at how things went for GVV after he beat him. GVVs finishing in this match was unbelieable, so even though Nijman wasn't playing his A game, he wiuld have still won this one most times, but GVV kept pulling rabbits out of the hat.

A shame that the Euro Tour guys didnt really step up for the most part, too. The elite just have that 'x factor' that you can't learn i think, where they just step up and perform when the pressure is at its highest.

MVG down to 7th in the rankings, and still has 200k to defend in a few months, along with a few 15k wins too.

I was so annoyed at this. It was a gripping game, neither were really at their absolute best, apart from as you say GVV doing some finishing from the Gods. But Nijman was also pulling out clutch finishes under pressure. I don't think the two of them get on all that much anyway, Nijman hangs out with Zonneveld and de Decker on Euro tours. I'd like to think that, even in defeat, it will have raised Nijman's TV performance stock a bit. It's all experience for him at the moment, he's still on an upward curve.

Delighted they they put Rob Cross's 1st round match on last (so I could get to bed earlier) and then draw him against Price in the 2nd round (so I didn't have to bother watching).

Apparently Kim "Mr. Chill" Huybrechts got into it with James Hurrell on the Pro Tour this week, what's the goss there?

Nothing major considering these two could both start an argument on their own in an empty room.

Yeah, just looks like hes being a sore loser.

MVG against De Graaf summarised MVG in 2026 to a tee. 117 average for 5 legs, and then was average and lost the match.

Doets again was class in PC25. So annoying to see that he did nothing in the Matchplay.

Speaking of PC25 and watching it on PDC.tv, how bad is the app on the firestick? Unbelievably basic. There's no resume, and you cant jump foward 10 seconds, which for pkayers like Cross and Gilding, and even Wade taking his darts out of the board, is very necessary.

Another gripe I have is thag the commentators spoil the other boards results. There's no way to watch it on catch up without spoiling it, unless you have it on mute. Takes all the fun out of it when youre watching board 1 but then have the results from the other boards spoiled.

Yeah this annoys me as well. Along with the “suggested videos” in the list below the video you’re watching which seem desperate to spoil everything.

That Klinge from the Aussie Masters looks like a decent player, doesn't he? Hope he tries to make the move to get a tour card. Showed some good bottle too.

Euro Tour is back too, and has been a load of fun already. The Greaves match was tremendous.  Cross has definitely picked up the quality a lot recently. Could do some damage in the next few months.

Love the crowds at these too. So much better than the British ones, and even the Aussie one was mostly the 'boring boring tables' bollocks. This Euro crowd had a Geisha in the front row, and what also looks to be a fancy dress of Freddie Mecury in I Want To Break Free drag. Where else could you see that.

Mason hating the Asterix fella is funny too. Him saying "Sit down" mid sentence when he popped up on screen for the first time was hilarious. And he said something along the lines of "Well done, you put someone off their throw at a double" too, which was great too. Have to disagree with Mase actually too, I think Asterix is class and is definitely a positive for the atmosphere, and he doesn't try too hard to make sure its all about him too.

Really fun Euro tour, that. Whilst Gando mind-gaming his way past Aspinall in the semi-final was interesting from a psychological perspective, it definitely hindered the final as a spectacle. You could tell Anderson was running out of gas before the final, but he was brilliant against GVV, so I suppose it kind of balanced out.

Don’t mind Smith winning. Hopefully it gives my boy Nijman a kick up the arse if he wants to be number 1 in Europe, he was bollocks against Chisnall.

Greaves-Cross, Searle-Springer, and GVV-Anderson were my favourite matches, but the highlight was probably Anderson hitting 3 treble 1’s. Magic!

Only just finishing the Euro Tour, and it was a hell of a load of fun. Nothing better than seeing Anderson wins matches at the back end of a tourney. That 80 he hit against GVV was class, as was the 140 against Asp, and then the tops to win. Those last two legs against Asp were absolute stinkers too, so cant believe he won it.

Sad to see MVG lose like that. Just seems like he can't be arsed any more. It was just a bad performance, but more importantly there felt like there was no fight left in the dog. Was depressing. No idea if he can pull it around and find the consistency again, or whether hes done as an elite player.

Bunting seems like a different player too compared to a few years back. No idea what's happened to him too, but looks like he will be dropping down the rankings if he doesn't sort himself out.

He had that PC where he averaged 123 against Schindler, so it would seem that the game is still there, he just can’t access it on the regs. I’m sure part of it is motivation - when you’ve won everything multiple times over, it all probably seems much of a muchness most of the time. There was such a fury and intensity in his eyes and demeanour when he was at his peak, and that’s definitely not there these days. Maybe thats just getting older - I certainly feel like I can’t be arsed with anything these days. Apart from watching Euro Tours.

Yeah he’s definitely having a lean spell, he’ll still look occasionally like his old self but seems to wobble more in crunch moments than his peak, and that’s always been his biggest trouble.

More Euro Tour tomorrow, yeahhhh!

First time the Lukes have met in Euro tour final? What? Not the highest quality game but enjoyed it a lot.

Elsewhere it was very disappointing to see my boy Wessel so meekly accepting defeat to MVG. I get that he’s a cool customer but he can do a lot better than that.

I love Euro tour.
