This was the first proper time I'd seen James Blunt out of his normal context. I reckon if I didn't know who he was and Celebrity Traitors was the first time I'd ever encountered him, it would take me a million guesses to get to "singer/songwriter". Never mind "one of the biggest selling albums in UK chart history".

His 2006 live stand up DVD is well worth a watch. Well, I say a watch, it's worth flicking through - it's one of the worst examples of stand up comedy I've ever seen. It's actually quite a sight to behold. It has to been seen to be believed. No wonder he knocked it on the head for nearly 20 years. At the end, there's even what I presume is a 10-minute spec-episode of a TV show he was working on, made to show to TV execs that (shock horror) never got picked up. Its about a Hollywood stuntman who has to move back to northern England after the work dries up. Equally as awful and I don't think the bit where he blacks up is the worst part. How this guy ever had a career in the first place is baffling.

WWE don’t really care if the set up was long, laborious and completely unrealistic. That bit will probably never be shown again (at least not unedited). As long as they have the 5 second clip of him coming off the ladder onto the ambulance to play for ever ad nauseam then they’ll be happy.
