Appreciate all that @Devon Malcolm thanks for taking the time to give that personal insight, and lots of love to your son.

As the father of a 14yo who is bang into this sort of shit, I'm absolutely going to have to go this. Just hoping there is nice food and somewhere for me to sit. I guarantee this will be the oldest I've ever felt at a gig.

Just in case you weren't aware.

Comic Book and Superhero movie & TV discussion.

I watched one episode as I loved the original and it was really fun. I'm not sure if I'll watch the entire series, not because its bad, far from it, its just I'm not really that interested anymore. Also, maybe this is just me and because I only know maybe 3 X-Men storyline, but I am sure I've seen this specific story told a million times over. Not necessarily a complaint as someone might be watching for the first time, so I get it. Gambit was always the best. Glad to see he still is. -
For reasons only known to me not long ago I ended up with 3 smart phones. 1x was my original personal one, but it ended up absolutely fucked, but still was the number that most people had, and I hadn't bothered to tell all people/move the sim over yet. 1x was my newer personal one and 1x was my work phone. As someone that checks they still have their key in their bag 475 times a day, I'm surprised this scenario didn't kill me.

The Official UKFF RAW thread (part 2)...
SuperBacon replied to The King of Old School's topic in UK Fan Forum
Good shout. A young Harold vs a young Lou quite frankly should headline the next Mania. -
Oh right. Apologies I misread/misinterpreted it. I thought you meant why can't YOU be an ally without having to use that word, which of course is silly and of course you can be. I suppose as with all things, it's about personal preference. How can I hate women, my Mums one.

Is there an example you can give as I'm struggling to understand this bit? Maybe I'm missing something, apologies.

Defiance: Fighting the Far Right on Channel 4 is superb. It's about the National Front, and how the Asian community in the 70s and 80s came together to fight them and their hatred. A tough watch obviously, and for my liking too much Southall footage and not enough Hounslow footage, but a minor quibble. Also on iplayer, Darren McGarvey The State We're In was an excellent watch. If you don't know who he is, he is a Scottish rapper called Loki, has written books (Poverty Safari is well worth a read) and these 3 episodes concentrate on education, justice and care, and show places or initiatives that are wildly different to what's happening in the UK, while exploring the current state of those 3 sectors. The schooling in Scandanavia seems radical, but in fact it's not when you think about it, but it is fascinating. Really enjoyed it, and he's a great presenter and writer.

I don't, but these sound very much like indie wrestling events Best of luck mate!

The thing is being an "ally" means a lot to the people you are supporting, or at least outwardly showing support to. And that can be small things. Like the work lanyard I have that has the pride colours on one side and the trans flag on the other. If just one LGBTQ or trans person sees that and it makes them feel better, then it's all worthwhile. I don't wear it because I'm sitting there thinking "Gosh I hope everyone on this bus sees my lanyard me as a super progressive trans ally, ain't I great" I couldn't give a toss whether someone finds that "patronising", "performative" or "annoying" quite frankly. Everything doesn't always have to be that deep, sometimes its just small actions that mean the most.

I honestly feel like me, the kids and my ex, have all just been passing the same bug back and forth for around 3 months. My youngest was incredibly unwell about a month ago around her birthday (every year the same) and her cough was horrendous to listen to. Only just about gone.
