Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 7, 2012 Moderators Share Posted March 7, 2012 I haven't seen the GI Joe film (past the first awful 10-15min) and now I definitely never want to. I don't need to ever see and I don't want to believe he's capable of doing any wrong. Â I would like to check out Wrong Turn 3, on the other hand. Charlie Hunnam gets a double entry on that list for his work in the TV show Undeclared as well.
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted March 7, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted March 7, 2012 *Another cracking example is Adebisi/Mr. Eko in the GI Joe film. Â He's from London, that's his real voice as far as I'm aware. Â That's my point, it's not. His real accent is, well, real. In GI Joe, he's using that strange "this is the fictional British accent American audiences want in films" accent. Â Don Cheadle in the ocean's films is the worst black actor English accent in history.

I caught a random part of that on TV once and genuinely thought the character was joking. But then he kept it up. Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted March 7, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted March 7, 2012 To not be racist or sexist Charlize Theron in Arrested Development was the worst white actress English accent in history (although she was adorable as the character)
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 7, 2012 Moderators Share Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) I didn't think she did a bad job... (given the nature of the role that is; that whole storyline played up to outdated stereotypes intentionally). Paid Members LaGoosh Posted March 7, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted March 7, 2012 Yeah I think she was ok, in fact it just made her character funnier and more charming. Her slightly weird way of speaking also makes sense considering her character....MR F!
Loki
Is Adebisi NOT French then? I always assumed his accent in Oz was his real accent.

Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted March 7, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted March 7, 2012 It certainly was an African accent, I didn't realise he was actually English for years.
