Red Light Killings in Ipswich

It could be a regular punter, however the more worrying aspect is that it could just be someone who has hatred towards all women and is 'using' prostitutes as they are easy targets, and the less easy they get the more likey it is he'll turn his attention to someone else. That is assuming of course it's a He....

Yeah, but surely these girls don't use even their real first name when they are working as prostitues, let alone their second name.IF he knew her names, it suggests he knew here outside of her work as a prostitue.

some punters take the girls under their wing and they also leach on to a well off punter and bleed them dry. When i worked the clubs and pubs in norwich, i knew all the girls by name, they are not ashamed of what they do its a living to them so they dont usually hide their names. I would guess they knew this person very well and trusted him also.

Fair point- but this, in turn suggests that if the killer knew them well it is unlikley his motive was something as fickle as picking a person whoes name was similar to a Jack the Ripper victim.

Sorry if I'm repeating stuff that's already been said, I've not been following the thread.I've had first hand experience of being bled dry by strippers (I'm naive and tend not to pre-judge people so I can get ripped off sometimes); prostitutes may be the same but that's not something I've had any experience with other than chatting with a Russian escort who was in London for six months, willingly on her own terms, earning money so she could go home and go to college. The image being portrayed of vulnerable drug addicts helplessly being exploited by evil, dirty old men isn't accurate for all but the lowest rung of sex workers. I'm concerned the murders are going to result in a mess of hurriedly-made, bad new laws making things worse. Already the debate over clamping down on punters has started on the news channels - good timing, it's really encouraging the kerb crawlers to go to the police with information, isn't it...?It's been mentioned that it could be someone known to the girls. That raises the possibility that it's not a sexual predator but someone like a pimp or drug dealer taking care of some business, or even a religious-type community worker punishing sinners.

And you knew the girl in question and could make that assumption? Not having a personal dig here, but I hate how people seem to know all about situations just by reading one or two sentances and never having met the people involved, yet they feel able to make generalisations and assumptions on the minimal amount of information.

Point is an Escort may well say that she is here for a few months earning cash to go to college. And it *might* be true. Alternativly she might be here illegal and be under the " protection " of Russian criminal elements in this country and using her earnings to feed a drug habit. But she is not going to SAY that is she. Edited by Dangerous Dave

I don't see why people continue to take Dangerous Dave's opinions on these issues seriously.I know a girl who did it for six months, raised enough money to do her Masters degree, then stopped. I can see why people might not agree with it as a way to make the money or whatever, but it does happen.EDIT: So you've back-pedalled on a presumptuous and thoughtless comment once again? Why don't you just think for a moment before posting to avoid having to do that?

I don't intend people too.

I know a girl who did it for six months, raised enough money to do her Masters degree, then stopped. I can see why people might not agree with it as a way to make the money or whatever, but it does happen.

The " I knew a " is a message board classic that may or may not be true.

EDIT: So you've back-pedalled on a presumptuous and thoughtless comment once again? Why don't you just think for a moment before posting to avoid having to do that?

On the contary, I've just made the point clearer.
