I recently watched 'The Devil's Rejects'.Really liked it, it's alot better than 'House Of 1000 Corpses', alot darker and more disturbing. And I think I'm in love with Sheri Moon-Zombie.

Went to see 'Silent Hill' yesterday. It was good visually, has some cool moments and is very faithful to the games, but overall it was just a giant mess. It makes virtually no sense (although, if you've played the games, you are more likely to understand some of it) and seems to last about 4 hours. When it ended, some guy sat behind me got up and proclaimed 'Well, that was the worst film ever.'

Very disappoiting to hear that. The impressive visuals came accross well in the trailer so I had reasonably high hopes for it. As an avid fan of the series I'll give it a watch but my optimism is fading now.As for the games shedding light on what's going on, it's fairly unlikely. They specialise in being vague, ambiguous and utterly confusing for the most part with a variety of possible endings etc. I presumed the film would just come up with a plotline of some kind that could fit into a film but it sounds like they didn't bother.

I had the chance to watch House Of Wax (2005) last night and it was pretty enjoyable. The film may be rather conventional in some respects, but there are quite a few effective, atmospheric scenes and gruesome moments. The performances by Elisha Cuthbert and Chad Michael Murray are good, but Paris Hilton's acting is absolutely awful. Due to her monotonous voice and seemingly half-arsed performance, she simply isn't convincing.

Nonetheless, she dies horribly, which compensates for it somewhat.

There's no way that I could leave my thoughts on this movie without saying it; Elisha Cuthbert is extremely hot!:love:

I know what you mean mate, i was loving it when she gets her ass out and goes "go on, shoot me in the ass" Also i was cracking up when Captain Spalding's other half was feeling horny and he goes "Jesus Christ woman i need a piss" or something to that effect.

The 'chinese, japanese, dirty knees, look at these!' bit is the sexiest bit.Wankworthy material for sure! ;)

Went to Silent Hill today. Terrible, with some of the worst acting you will ever see.

Who's acting is bad in the film? From the clips I have seen Radha Mitchell seems to do fine, Sean Bean is not meant to be in it long (but his acting seemed fine from the scenes I have seen), I would assume the monsters don't speak so their acting ability shouldn't matter. I am guessing that it is their daughter's acting which is poor then?

Radha Mitchell is terrible in this, and I thought she was very good in Pitch Black and Man On Fire. Laurie Holden (who plays a cop) is just woeful, and Sean Bean (who is normally very solid) is fairly poor, and his accent seems to change in every scene. I swear he had an Irish accent going on in one scene, then back to English/American. The dialogue really doesn't help the cast, as so much of it is unnaturalistic, but there are times when the acting is so wooden you cringe. A lot of the cinema audience were pissing themselves laughing during the film, and while a good bit of it was assholes trying to be cool or whatever, there is a lot of unintentional humour to be found throughout.

Brotherhood of the Wolf

A very good film, with an interesting & intriguing story, an interesting look and atmosphere, and some good plot twists. The film is also bloody and violent at times, with some very entertaining fight scenes. The CGI effects used for the beast are poor though (the beast looks like it is out of a made-for-TV creature movie), and the film is slow paced at times, but on the whole the movie is very entertaining.

I watched Cinderella Man today on DVD, I though it was awesome. It also made me cry. I've always though Russell Crowe was a fantastic actor but in this I thought he was amazing. Should have won an Oscar this film!

I ended up playing some Silent Hill 4 today and ended up going to see it tonight instead of Monday.Boy does this seem to have split audiences. I really enjoyed it, though if I was not such a big fan of the games it would not have been as fun of an experience. The film takes parts of the games and mixes them up but leaves out a lot of vital elements which lead to it making very little sense. I think the whole cinema had wondered what the hell they had just seen. First two acts seemed pretty strong to me, everytime the sirens went off I was dreading what carnage would unfold but the final act was weaker with the drawn out flashback which actually seemed to confuse things more. The final church scene was brutal - more violent than anything I had seen in the four video games and I wondered if that scene, and an earlier scene featuring Pyramid Head at the church, had crossed into 18 certificate territory.Confusing film, pretty tense and freaky, beautifully shot - I don't think there will be a middle ground with this you'll either really like it or hate it.
