Paid Members Jazzy G Posted Thursday at 10:02 AM Paid Members Posted Thursday at 10:02 AM Is this anything to do with the Danhausen Halloween special that keeps turning up in my Youtube recommendations even though I've not watched any wrestling in yonks? Quote
SoloJones Posted Thursday at 11:32 AM Posted Thursday at 11:32 AM Really hard to care about anything WWE related most of the time, but I do think Charlie Dempsey is great so I'll check out his match, even if it's probably not a great opponent for him. Hopefully it's a fairly sensible gimmick that gets attached to it. Quote

Paid Members Cod Eye Posted Thursday at 02:09 PM Paid Members Posted Thursday at 02:09 PM Always surprises me that out of all the WCW properties they could have adopted, this was never used as a full WWE PPV. I always thought it was a brilliant opportunity to get creative with sets, and character costumes/gimmick matches. Plus, I think its a great name for a wresting show. Quote

It's the best IP they could inherit and a brilliant opportunity to get creative. I would have thought doing the show in Vegas, even if not at the MGM Grand, would have been right up their street years ago. It's wasted in NXT and even more so with how shitarse it is these days. Paid Members RedTwoster Posted 13 hours ago Paid Members Posted 13 hours ago I decided to watch this, to get an idea as to who the rising stars in NXT might be right now. That was potentially the worst show, I’ve seen all year. It encapsulated everything I hate about WWE ‘humour’ - the mist Vince McMahony non-Vince McMahon show anyone could book. For those asking what HBK’s booking is like - for the worst extremes, give the bulk of this show a watch. I look forward to whatever non-finish they come up with for Waller/Punk next week. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted 9 hours ago Paid Members Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Never normally watch NXT, but I’ve seen some clips of people falling over some crates backstage and landing in a spooky dimension that looks so shit I might have to give this show a go. 4 hours ago, RedTwoster said: I look forward to whatever non-finish they come up with for Waller/Punk next week. I won’t be shocked if CM Punk wins the belt! Maybe I’m being a cynical prick, but I think beating Dynamite in the ratings and stealing the headlines from Blood and Guts by walking out as Champion might be too tempting an opportunity for Punk to pass up. Spite’s a strong emotion. Plus, with the way in which Sami Zayn is hitting such a home run as Champion on Smackdown, easily the best thing in WWE right now, maybe Punk realises he needs a new direction for a couple of months. Doing something similar to Becky Lynch, having a run with the belt whilst helping teach and get over the new talent might be the perfect soft launch for him eventually taking over NXT when Shawn Michaels moves into the Bruce Prichard position after Wrestlemania. Plus, if nothing else, think of how many weird, awkward hugs and Starbucks gift cards a four month NXT run allows! He’ll be like a pig in shit! Edited 9 hours ago by Supremo Quote
BarryOVega Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I was into every match except for Zilla Vs Dempsey, Birthright don't do anything for me, which I reckon is 99% down to Uriah Connors being such a shite name Speaking of shite, the end of Kelani Vs Wren was exactly that, she barely had any leverage with her foot on the rope plus it ruined my prediction of Kendal turning on Wren Main event was alright but how you're supposed to believe hitting someone in the face with a crowbar wouldn't kill them, then Waller hilariously still bothering to do his finish after that, hate weapons like that in matches, I never like HHH's sledgehammer for the same reason Despite those negatives I did actually enjoy the show overall but if you're not already a fan of NXT then it's not going to convert you Quote

Gin_n_juice Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago First NXT weekend show I've really bothered to watch since late 2024, I don't normally post here but will give leaving my first review a try, hope Its ok! Was always a big fan of WCW Halloween Havoc so figured I'd give this a go and see what NXT had to offer and see what the hype was all about for HBK's booking. So let's get the negatives out the way first of all. Was very unimpressed with the look and lighting, felt way too overproduced for what is meant to be a developmental show. The colours just slapped you full in the face if that makes sense, kind of took things away from the ring. Naraku and Shiloh Hill..enough said. Booker.T has to go from commentary surely, he's just noise at this point and adds nothing whatsoever. I found a lot of the wrestlers quite bland and boring with no real character, found it difficult to determine who was heel or face. I'd heard so much hyping up Zilla Fatu, was genuinely surprised how relatively small he was and how limited he seemed in ring, it felt like Charlie Dempsey was leading him through the match by his nose. Roster wise they seemed quite weak, I'm sure if I watch NXT more regularly I will soon pick up on the talent and storylines. So to the positives. Zaria really stood out as someone that could be a star of the future in my opinion. she has a great look and intensity about her, end of the match seemed a little flat but will be interested to see where they take it. Really enjoyed the commentary of Vic Joseph, he has a good voice and adds to the matches, with a decent co commentator he could be very good indeed. Charlie Dempsey, really solid in ring and believable. Carried Zilla through the match I thought. Something random which I liked was the different colour ring ropes, I'm bored of seeing white ropes on nearly every show and PPV in the US. The NXT black and gold that I used to enjoy and wouldn't miss a show is now long gone sadly, however I will try and give the current NXT another try, I will be interested to see some more of the talent they have there and how they'll handle having some of the main roster stars on the show too.
