AAA Triplemanía 34 Discussion

The event will take place over two nights: 11th September at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 13th September at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.

 

Night #1 - Friday 11th September

• Rey Mysterio [with El Grande Americano] vs. Omos [with Dominik Mysterio and Dorian Roldán] (If Omos wins, his suspension from AAA will be lifted. If Mysterio wins, Omos will be permanently banned from AAA)
• AAA Latin American Championship: La Parka (c) vs. Laredo Kid vs. Mr. Iguana
• AAA World Trios Championship: Los Psycho Circus (Dave the Clown, Murder Clown, and Panic Clown) (c) vs. Los Perros del Mal (Angel, Berto, and Daga)
• Roxanne Perez vs. Faby Apache vs. Nattie vs. La Hiedra (Winner receives an AAA Reina De Reinas Championship match at AAA Worlds Collide)
• Latino World Order (Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde) vs. Los Americanos (Bravo Americano and Rayo Americano) vs. Tokyo Bad Boys (Kento and Nobu San) vs. Fraxiom (Axiom and Nathan Frazer)
• Adelicious, Mascarita Sagrada, and Mini Vikingo vs. Lady Shani, Jack Cartwheel, and Mini Abismo Negro

Night #2 - Sunday 13th September

• AAA Mega Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Grande Americano
• AAA Reina de Reinas Championship: Flammer (c) vs. La Catalina    
• AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fénix (c) vs. Jack Cartwheel vs. Mini Vikingo vs. Nathan Frazer
• AAA World Tag Team Championship: War Raiders (c) vs. TBA (This will be an open challenge)
• Mexican Street Fight: El Carnicero vs. Psycho Clown    
• Copa Bardahl (basically a 15-man Royal Rumble-esque match but eliminations can be via pinfall, submission or over the top rope)

Looking forward to this. AAA is usually an easy and fun watch (although it is starting to get overrun with adverts like WWE) and the big events like these are usually lots of fun.

Intrigued to see if Omos v Rey can be anything, match quality wise, given the size difference but it should be a spectacle if nothing else.

Mexican crowds are usually loud and into everything and hopefully the Vegas crowd will be too.

Yeah nice easy watch when you fast forward all the ads.

Hopefully Lady Shani is okay.

Yeah, looks like they put the wrong time on YouTube.  Looking around, some places online have 3am as the start time but on WWE.com they've got 9ET/6PT  which should be 2am.

I don't know if it was the same for everyone but the sheer volume of YouTube ads made this almost unwatchable for me 

In some instances during the main event there were literally adverts every minute and it completely disrupted the flow of the match.

It was ridiculous and infuriating.

If you're on some kind of Android device or TV get Smarttube, it skipped every single and for me, even the ones in the middle of someone's entrance.

I'll give my usual advice - if you happen to be paying for Spotify or some other premium music service, ditch that for YouTube Premium.

Ad-free YouTube plus pretty much everything you'd want on YouTube Music plus being able to have the audio of that video some put up of a rare live performance from that German TV show in 1967 in your music library.

Highlight of the weekend.

Main event was solid, was obviously never touching mask vs mask but everyone did what they needed to and the crowd are still molten for El Grande.

El Carnicero is Kane if Glen jacobs watched texas chainsaw instead of Halloween, fun little street fight, concussion protocol must be different in Mexico because they were lamping each other in the face with weapons.

Speaking of, why does Rey Fenix hate his neck? A really fun 4 way but some of his bumps were disgusting, particularly one off a crucifix bomb. Bit of a problem now where he feels bigger than the division.

Rest of the show was solid, at least one of the main titles needs to be on a heel though, gotta gives the hero a mountain to climb.

Also, why was Rey Mysterio just hanging around the back in a referee mask?

Given I dip in and out of AAA, I bloody loved both nights of TripleMania. The 3 fatal four way matches were all superb but I think the tag one just shades the other two for best match

One of the best things they could have done was putting together a new iteration of LPDM, it’s kept Los Garza from getting culled, got Karmen away from the Kill Bill sword welding gimmick and got Daga over with a wider audience. Giving them their old theme back last night on top of having them win the Trios titles on Friday was the icing on the cake

It was obvious they’d go down the road of having Liv, JD, Omos and Los Americanos involved in the main event but despite that and Rey near enough no selling (bar the neck brace) being demolished on Friday to count the winning fall, the crowd still blew the roof off for El Grande winning

Credit btw to Corey Graves for fighting through his vocal issues that started during the Copa Bardahl. He and JBL done a great job calling both nights in person and without Rey bogging things down

I do think AAA has a pretty underrated tag division tbh.

War Raiders, Wagner Brothers, Los Americanos, PDM, Tokyo Bad Boys, Fraxiom, Money Machine and I'm sure a couple of others I'm forgetting.

Now they just need to boost their women's division a little. Unsure if Lady Maravilla from Las Toxicas has left but she was not been around for a while. They need a few more challengers for La Catalina in my opinion.

TizenTube is also great (though you'll need to enable developer mode/untrusted sources etc). It doesn't just cut out the actual YouTube ads, but you can set it to automatically detect and cut out bits where the video itself has promotional spots for VPNs or whatever. You can even have it remove self-promotion (guys, don't forget to like and subscribe) or irrelevant tangents, or long outros where it's just a static screen trying to get you to click to watch another of their videos. (Obviously you will in the long term cause the video creators to lose their income and be unable to produce new content, but that's a future you problem.)
