I could have lived without seeing 'Handsome Steve' doing his best to become 'Forgetful... Steve?'.

Mate, the only way you'd look a billion dollars is if you got uglier. You've got the whole world at your feet. Absolutely no need for you to be doing silly bollocks.

Someone get prime Orton to give him a ring, and have him point out that the beauty of looking like God's attempt at drawing a wrestler is you can do the absolute bare minimum and still be a star. Bumps are for normal mortals.

A very good show, although I must admit I found it difficult to enjoy at least a portion of it because of the injury to Steve Borden. The fact they didn’t even cut to him leaving the ring and Excalibur sounding genuinely rattled had me worried we’d just seen a man get paralysed or worse. Thankfully it seems as if he’s doing well, but that was a tough watch. I hope he’s back quickly.

Dani Luna was an odd choice for an open challenge and really you could have just done that match on Dynamite. 

Okada/Ciampa was fantastic, and Okada continues to be one of my favourite wrestlers. I really hope he is the one to eventually take the World Title from Ospreay, he’s absolutely sensational. Ciampa was great too, of course and his daughter was excellent in the small role she played.

The trios match was easily the best of the night for me. Swerve and Hangman will never not have me on the edge of my seat when they’re in the ring together, Brody King is the best big man in wrestling and Bandido might be the best in ring performer on the planet. Then you have New Level who have been wrestling at, well, a new level since joining AEW. What a signing they’ve been. That might have been the best trios match of all time, I loved it. 

PAC/Andrade wasn’t for me. Andrade needs to drop the selfie spot, I knew it would happen and that took me out of the match - I knew it couldn’t end until it had and found myself waiting for it. 

The tag title match lived up to my expectations and I’m curious as to what’s next for Cope and Cage. I’d like to see MJF/Copeland at some point so I hope it’s singles competition.

Willow/Thekla was fun, and I must admit that I was surprised at the result. Mercedes/Thekla should be fun.

I can’t stand the Brawling Birds gimmick, but the tag match was decent.

Ospreay/Moxley was OK. It dragged at times, but I’m hoping the next step will be some kind of development with the Death Riders. Moxley needs to move on and do something that feels different…or team up with Eddie Kingston again.

Apologies. Don’t know what relevance, if any, this has to the show. But it said ‘All Out’ on the caption. Just seen Mick Foley literally on his hands and knees bowing down to a couple of women wrestlers…

He’s never ever beating the creepy, pervy uncle allegations. What in the public humiliation kink fetish is he playing at? Is there even a context to this? Was it actually part of the show or something a fan just caught? Biggest surprise was his knees work well enough now for him to get down and back up again. But Christ, this looks awkward.

Even if I knew with absolute, cast-iron, 100% certainty that there was no untoward/libidinal drive behind any of it, Micker's "I'm just such a FAN of the women, I'm really rooting for women's wrestling! Can I be in these shots, to show that?" is incredibly grating.

I switched the show off after the Women’s Tag match. Try as I might, I couldn’t shake how haunting that Steven Borden injury was. Even recognising how good some of the work was (Okada is equally the best and funniest wrestler of all time!), I just wasn’t in the mood after seeing something so scary.

The way Borden’s hand cramped up as he went unconscious. The way they refused to shoot anything other than the announcers. The scary seriousness of the announcer’s voices. Absolutely horrific situation. Reminded me of Owen Hart’s death.

Huge credit to the company. They did everything right. Immediately stopped the match. Kept giving the audience in the arena and on TV updates. Once again, AEW prove they’re the absolute best pro-wrestling company at dealing with awful, horrible circumstances.

By contrast, I saw the grifters were out in force. Dickheads like Jimmy Korderas thinking it was an appropriate time to blame the company for allowing him to do something so risky, arguing AEW, “failed,” him. I went back and checked. His beloved WWE had Logan Paul doing the exact same spot in his fourth ever match, so with arguably even less experience than Borden. Fuck the grifters.

It does remind me of a valid point I heard recently: sometimes the best wrestlers shouldn’t be trainers because what worked for them won’t work for anyone else. I saw someone theorise that’s why so many NXT graduates are clumsy and botchy. They’re being trained by the most naturally gifted, wildly athletic wrestler of all time in Shawn Michaels, who can’t grasp that normal people can’t do half of what he had the ability to do. “Do this and just be fucking amazing,” only works if you’re actually Shawn Michaels himself. Same here. Maybe Darby shouldn’t be teaching a rookie, assuming everyone else’s body can handle the risks, bumps and punishment he can.

Fingers crossed Handsome Steve is okay and can come back from this. Would hate for this to be a Scott Putski situation.

I’ll get back to the rest of the show when I’m in a better mood. Fair play though. This was absolutely class. Okada rules.

The wrestlers gimmick is that she's a Goddess and we should all bow down to her. So he's playing into the gimmick, presumably.

I hope Steve is OK. That did not look great.  Accidents happen in wrestling and they can happen to anyone at any time. That was obviously something that would have been practiced and they must have been happy that he could perform the move safely. Grifters are gonna grift that's how they get paid and they are best ignored. I'm not sure that the whataboutary of pointing at Logan Paul and comparing the situations is any different though Supes, though I suppose you aren't getting paid. 

Why is it impossible for any former Shield member to have a main event match without loads of outside interference. The egos on those 3 lads are off the charts. It's almost like all three of them are shit wrestlers who need the extras to have a main event match.

This was the highlight of the pre-show. The confidence with which Daniel Garcia announces he’s homeschooled really made me laugh. The type of comedy you’d only get in AEW.
