It’s the kinda thing we joke about in a ‘LOL WWE’ kinda way, but I think it merits its own thread given the potential implications. 

TKO has confirmed that Triple H and Nick Khan are using AI for WWE storylines (link to Postwrestling) - we obviously knew it was trialled, but as far as I’m aware this is the first time they’ve explicitly confirmed that it’s in active use - the quote from Mark Shapiro:

TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro called the company’s embrace of AI a “major priority,” emphasizing how AI could help employees become more efficient and productive. He noted how the UFC uses AI for fighter rankings and explained WWE’s use of AI.

“Nick Khan and Triple H are using AI for storylines with the WWE,” Shapiro said. “What’s resonating? What superstars are resonating? In what pockets of the country are they resonating? That helps us with, obviously, our content, our editorial, our creative, our mapping, our touring, and of course, maximizing revenue and getting our product out to the fans most in need of it.”

And frankly, things like the Pat McAfee debacle make significantly more sense when you look at it through the lens of it potentially being generated by AI. It genuinely seems like the kind of thing generative AI might suggest. 

If nothing else, it’s impressive to see WWE find new, shitty ways to be unethical. They deserve to be imploding in the way that they are.
