If there’s any question to ask about his return, it’s whether or not he’d be willing to accept a lower pay packet - Khan will almost certainly beat anything WWE has to offer in that sense. Quote

From a business perspective at least, Jericho has always seemed pretty smart in making decisions for himself and his character over the years. I guess it depends where his head is now. If he wants to go out on a high then I'd be shocked if he didn't think WWE was the better option at this point. But if money's the main driver then that makes things a lot more open. To be fair on AEW, Sting’s retirement absolutely trounces how Goldberg and John Cena went out - and if AJ Styles loses at the Rumble, I’d be amazed if that was viewed as a Sting-level retirement. If AEW was to house Jericho’s last match, I would imagine they’d do it justice. The fact he’s been gone for as long as he has means he’d almost certainly get a positive reaction if he were to return to AEW television - he’d be in a good position to go out on a high even if he were to stay where he is, I imagine. Guess it depends when he plans on retiring. If he wanted one more decent fresh run before going out then I still think WWE is the best option for that. There's pros and cons to both sides I think. As far as I can think, there are more active wrestlers in AEW with strong ties to Jericho in AEW than in WWE right now, if you are looking to run a ‘greatest hits’ retirement run. In WWE, you have Kevin Owens, AJ Styles (assuming he doesn’t retire next week), Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk - and in the case of Cody, their main feud wasn’t even in WWE. In AEW you have MJF, Hangman, Kenny Omega, Big Show, Edge, Christian, Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Sammy Guevara and Will Ospreay. You could do an Inner Circle reunion if you wanted, with the remnants of that group. You could run a story in which he aims to hold the AEW World title one last time before he retires - that kind of feud/story with MJF might work wonders for both of them. You could have him reunite with Paul Wight for a tag title match, or have a retirement match in which all sorts of blasts from the past get involved. For me at least, there’s no obvious ‘right answer’ to this one. Quote

If anything so his last moment isn't his good personal longtime friend Paul Hunter telling him how much he means to the business. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted January 25 Paid Members Posted January 25 Jericho has an incredibly large ego though, and this isn't a knock on AEW but I'd imagine Jericho will want to retire in front of the biggest possible audience, and that is WWE at the minute. It may be average for him creatively but on an ego trip level it's the place for him. Quote
