Paid Members LaGoosh Posted October 22 Paid Members Posted October 22 Very good show. I really liked the Swerve/Hangman stuff. New Level miss a week and Swerve's trying to sign them up to a Texas Death match. The tension with Hangman has brought out the psycho in Swerve and now they might end up in the most violent match of their lives. New Level are used to WWE style hardcore, this is a whole new kettle of fish for them and I'm very intrigued by how they will react to it. Joe needs to drop The Opps. Shittest stable ever. He doesn't need them. They do nothing. And surely there's a better use for Shibata?! Quote

Texas Death has never been my thing, but the fact New Level are in it actually makes me want to see this match. I just can’t imagine Kofi and Creed going to that level of brutality, it’s the maddest possible match you could have those guys in, I love it! Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted October 22 Paid Members Posted October 22 (edited) I like the idea of Swerve trying to drink Hangman’s blood in Texas Death, and that’s the final straw for The New Level to finally admit their mate is actually a complete nutter. A Nick Wayne/Chris Jericho Tag Team feels nailed on at this point. It’s very obvious that Jericho has fallen in love with Nick Wayne and won’t want to leave his orbit. Legitimately the first thing Jericho’s done in years that’s truly clicked. Everything from Wayne’s cadence, T-shirt and the pyro gimmick all feels extremely Jericho-coded. The way he looks at Wayne dicking about also reminds me of how proud he used to look upon Sammy Guervara during the Covid tapings. Let’s just hope Nick Wayne has more of an upside than Sammy! Funny to watch both AEW and WWE push these wildly young guys in Nick Wayne and Je'Von Evans, yet they couldn’t feel more different. Nick Wayne legitimately feels like a young, exciting talent. Man’s a walking meme generator. By contrast, despite only being one year older, and equally as young in terms of how long he’s been on TV, the way they script Je'Von Evans makes him feel older than Bobby Fish! Je'Von is one of those weird kids who’s spent too much time with his nan. The only way Nick Wayne would ever hang out with Je'Von Evans is if his mum forced him to. Edited October 22 by Supremo Quote

Maybe not the really extreme shit but they should be leaving that for direct Hangman/Swerve interaction. But I can see him getting a crimson mask, doing a glass bump or something. Kofi... I can't but I bet he will! If he keeps doing the move (which I hope he does, and I think he did tease it but got countered) and WWE has "Torpedo Moscow" trademarked (or AEW want to play down the Russia bit) then please just call it Dynamo Dresden. That is all. Quote

They should hesitate to use any weapons that don’t have a massive sponsor plastered on them. ”Where are the Slim Jim tables?” exclaims Kofi, as Hangman cracks him over the head with a barbwire chair. That’s a point. Has a Kofi ever bladed in the history of his career? I can’t recall it. Seeing him in a wild CZW match might be the maddest visual ever. Quote

Paid Members RedTwoster Posted October 23 Author Paid Members Posted October 23 It's the first time I've ever been excited for a match like this, it's absolutely nuts to imagine them doing something like this and I just can't wait. 10 minutes ago, Supremo said: That’s a point. I can't recall him even being busted open accidentally in WWE, although given the length of his career there it surely must have happened at some point. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted October 23 Paid Members Posted October 23 (edited) Bandido being in the match stands out a bit too, he's not a great fit for it. Edited October 23 by LaGoosh Quote
Chili Posted October 23 Posted October 23 (edited) Poor New Level running around like headless chickens trying to find the Prime hydration station. Honestly, I see them both doing something absolutely batshit to prove a point. Austin Creed to use a games console as a weapon then crying over the broken pieces like that bit in Platoon. I wouldn't be surprised if New Level were the two that pitched it - they must be loving the freedom to go absolutely insane after spending that much time in a toned-down environment. I honestly can't wait for this match, I'm so excited and I never thought I'd say that about a Texas Death match! Quote
The King of Old School Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Might be a daft question but what would the rules be in a trios texas death? Presume a submission would win it like a regular match, but for the count out would all 3 have to not be able to answer the count at the same time or is it just if one of the members is down? Quote
