See, that used to be true. Wouldn't have disagreed with you fifteen years ago.

But the industry has changed: the reason why British wrestling companies won't do well now isn't because of the usual stigma against wrestling or because of the sleazy fuckers around the business or the shitty production values. Progress and ICW did very well, to a previously-unprecedented degree. They were still a bit "BritWres", but they were run professionally enough to reach much bigger markets than previous companies, appealing to untapped audiences with surprisingly well-produced shows.

But there's a new problem in town, and that's WWE under Triple H. They basically did the Evil Corporation thing and fucked the market with WWE-UK. Any British company wanting to get anywhere now has that to deal with, either in competition, or simply having to decide whether getting bought out is a bigger dream than actually providing British fans with a genuine, long-term, homegrown alternative.
