I think if this happened a couple of years ago I’d be favouring chimaev more but with the weight and health issues he seems to have lost a bit of his aura. I’ve gone for DDP in the poll but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Chimaev takes him down and gets him out of there in a minute. Either way, really looking forward to this one. They ran into each other earlier in the week before this and, whether it was just the camera angle or what, Khamzat looked much bigger than DDP in that clip. And all I saw after that was comments suggesting ‘DDP is fucked’ and loads of people saying DDP looked terrified. Proper flashbacks to the days of McGregor rimmers insisting every opponent was scared shitless going into his fights. Not buying it at all. Khamzat might well win on Saturday, I’ve got pretty much no clue what the fuck happens here, but if he does win it won’t be because DDP is “scared”. Quote

I'm leaning towards DDP weathering an early onslaught (and probable 10-8 first round) and taking over in the Championship rounds as Chimaev fades. I also think DDP and his team will come up with some clever stuff for DDP to use against Chimaev. I therefore pick DDP to win a close decision. As others have posted though, I will not bat an eyelid if Chimaev wins via stoppage in the opening round. Quote

It leans heavily toward Khamzat in round 1 as he's arguably the best 1st round fighter in the history of the sport, but after that I think the tide tilts towards DDP. Cannot wait. Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 I'm stupidly excited for this one now we're 24 hours away, Dana agreed at the presser this is the biggest fight this year and the biggest personally. Khamzat getting it done within the first two is my prediction and what I'm praying for, I've predicted khamzat winning a belt for three years now this being my third which only hasn't happened because of him being unable to fight in the US but better late than never. It's such a stacked card aswell let's hope it doesn't disappoint. I seriously hope the UFC fucking boot Bryan battle after this missed weight which is his fourth time he's done it it's not acceptable at this level either. Been delayed until September. This is hopefully the final card… I’ve finally updated the opening post. I’m not arsed about losing the Green vs Ferreira or Battle vs Ruziboev fights. Sod it.
