Well. 

Much like the Deck, this all feels like such a breath of fresh-yet-familiar, no nonsense air compared to what the other companies are doing. 

I've never been interested in proper VR games but running any old ancient shite on a VR headset?

I'll be found dead like the gluttony guy from Se7en, with Net Yaroze or Kula World still reflecting off the back of my eyelids.

Price dependent, that could be a purchase for me definitely. The idea of being able to play my extensive PC library from the comfort of a console sized machine really appeals to me.

You'll have access to the Steam Workshop so yeah but under their rules, it's a great easy to use system but not all moddable games are included.

I was under the impression you could mod games like GTA on The Steam Deck?

To an extent with select games, it's not like it is on a Windows PC. It's in that middle ground between console and PC, and I think that's great and has been needed for many years but you're not going to get the full freedom of modding and the complexities that come with that unless you're running on Windows. 

GTA itself is a weird one though, you can't even play multiplayer... 

I'm not sure how full this list is but it should be pretty much everything that supports mods through Steam.

Just to add to what @Merzbow has said, although Steam Workshop is the easiest way of modding games on the Deck, you can mod games outside of that - but it can be very time consuming and complicated; much more so than if you were to do it on a Windows PC (or, I assume, a ROG Ally)

Having said that, I’ve done it a few times myself following step-by-step guides online to individual games. As far as I can think, it’s always worked, even if I’ve sometimes had to tinker a bit to get it to that point.

EDIT: I should add, that if a game updates to a new version, that can break mods or even the game itself meaning you have to uninstall the mods or even reinstall the game. This fortunately hasn’t affected me, but it’s something to consider.

A long shot, I know, but I can't get A Hat in Time to work on my Steam Deck. All I get is as far as the spinning Steam logo and it won't go any further than that. Any advice that doesn't require a masters degree in computer engineering to understand?
