In fairness it does feel very much like the tortoise and the hare with the league right now, with City trying to get as far ahead as possible before potential points deductions to make the last half of the season interesting.

They're not going to get any points deductions.

What’s up with Arsenal’s terrible discipline this season? I know they were all celebrating the heroic point they got against City but the real statement would have been winning there not clinging on. Has there been a rule change that’s gone against their physical style or something? Just a fancy Fat Sam with Lego hair is Arteta.

Didn't you hear? It's a massive conspiracy.

In fairness, other than the mutants on Twitter I don't think anyone with any sense has actually suggested there's a conspiracy. There has been a lack of consistency in the application of VAR certainly and unfortunately we've been on the end of that to som⁸e extent, but more than anything the players showed significant naivety to put themselves in those situations in the first place. Decisions can only go against you if you put yourself in a position for it to happen. Would rather it be now than in May.

Big Sam could never.

We didn't start well, Bournemouth have shown all season, especially when playing at home that their pressing in the final third is highly impressive,  I thought they begun brightly and started better then us, we started to get higher up the pitch when having possession of the ball, but Trossard completely messes up with his pass back to Saliba, their striker going to go through on goal and Saliba in that split second makes the choice to pull him down(should have let him go in on goal seeing as he's just inside our half) but doesn't, down to ten men and becomes an even bigger struggle.

I thought we limited Bournemouth well in the second half to no real good chances, got on top of them and Martinelli has to score with his chance, misses, within couple minutes they score from a well worked corner, good finish from Christie and then we chasing, get caught from Kiwior tying a back pass to Raya which doesn't have enough pace on the ball, there forward nicks in, Raya trying to reach for the ball misses, brings their player down, penalty given, they score and game done.

It's a difficult loss to stomach, but we know we weren't going to win every remaining game left in the season and nor will Manchester City, more points will be dropped but we've got to be better and stop making these silly mistakes which are costing us big time so far.

Congrats to Bournemouth on their performances, fully deserved win for them and now we focus on Shaktar next in midweek and Liverpool on Sunday.

Whole away end was singing "2-0 to the referee"

Yes it's typical fan behaviour and we all do it, but don't spoil my fun :)

My mate’s youngest’s football team got some cheap tickets to the Colchester vs Cheltenham game yesterday. Having driven past the stadium on the A12 countless times, I’d harshly assumed it would be terrible. But despite it being quite empty, the atmosphere was more than decent and we had a great afternoon out.

I was quite shocked at the quality of the football though, which ranged between terrible and terribly terrible.

Cheltenham’s away kit is really nice.

I think pretty much any professional football can be entertaining as a neutral. I go to a few Blackpool games a season just for the atmosphere and afternoon/evening out, even though I'm not a fan of either team.

Although I am gaining a grudging respect for Blackpool. They are absolutely useless but their fans are very nice and they derby with PNE who are a bunch of thugs.

The disrespect everywhere for Liverpool is wild. Why is it such an assumption that it will be either City or Arsenal that will win the league? Arsenal have the best XI but are woefully short below that, City are not guaranteed with Rodri out all season and De Bruyne being so injury prone. Liverpool are just purring away nicely.

I don't think any Liverpool fans care, to be honest. Flying under the radar is where it's at. The "Are they title contenders?" thing is for TalkSport and Sky Sport's YouTube channel clicks.

I did joke with a friend yesterday that it would be fun in the Arsenal game to watch Arteta do his Jim Carey stuff on the touchline whilst Slot played Wordle on his phone, but a short few weeks into the season and John Brooks seems to have broken him yesterday:

Welcome to the show, Arne!
