RIP Dave Hebner

A shame, as he was such a big part of one of the biggest angles of Rock N Wrestling/Hulkamania, up there with Andre snapping the Hulks crucifix chain off his neck and the actual Mania III match for iconic memories. Shame it wasn’t blown off properly like it would be today with a one on one with a decisive pin, at SummerSlam was the closest we had to closure, but different times and you can understand why.

RIP. Little known fact is that Dave Hebner never refereed another match after the Hogan Andre angle in 1988. Earl refereed as "Dave Hebner" for many years until they started acknowledging him as Earl in the Attitude Era.

It was always fun to see Dave run out amongst a slew of agents in his smart trousers and jacket-but trainers look during a pull apart, while Earl stood there trying to restore order, looking exactly the same but as a ref. Apart from Dave put on some timber when he stopped refereeing.

Not true according to WWE's obituary.
