Once you added the trailer/armour that turned him into Ultra Magnus, he looked like a big immobile lump. G1 Optimus Prime, Soundwave, Jazz, Starscream, Bumblebee, Slag, etc. all had proper legs. They might not have had much articulation, but they still had a better "humanoid robot" silhouette. Quote
davertfnewman Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 You won't see it on Masterpiece Smokescreen as the legs are separate there, but if you look at Ultra Magnus and the G1 Smokescreen when they're transformed into robot mode they just kinda roll with no facility to "walk" on separate legs, which Missing Link works upon. The missing link Prime has much improved articulation, and will form the core of this release. Looking forward to seeing how they incorporate the Magnus Armour. This has just surfaced. It looks like an early test shot. I can see the concerns about "proper legs" now. The little car is Powered Buggy and is Powered Convoy's version of Roller. They didn't bring that over to G1 Transformers. It stayed in Diaclone. Edited August 28, 2025 by BigJag Quote

Much higher quality and larger though. I'm not a fan of the blind purchase system. Will probably look into picking up selected models on the secondary market. I hated Meccano, etc as a kid, though, so paid a nephew to assemble them for me. The good lad did it without even knowing that there was £20 in it for him. There was a presentation at TFNation in Manchester this past weekend about Blokees, what's next in the pipeline, etc. Unfortunately, I didn't see it, having tapped out at two sessions ruined by other people's irritating behaviour. (I don't have anything against anybody saving money by bringing in their own food ... but do you really have to eat your foil-wrapped sandwiches whilst one person is interviewing two others, with no microphone in sight? And is it really necessary to then move on to a packet of crisps? And if you happen not to have put your phone on silent, then that's unfortunate: but the response to that isn't to answer it and then engage in customary banal conversation during a presentation!) You'd be within your rights to complain and I have told them in a polite way what I thought before when I've had similar concerns before. A few years ago, I went into a panel with some mates. Part of the way through it, I needed to pop to the loo so popped out. When I returned, the two jobsworth doormen wouldn't let me back in because they'd let someone else in and were keeping it at a capacity number and had no interest in listening, so I went to one of the more accessible staff and asked if she had time for a rant. Yeah, in retrospect I could've told them that I was just popping to the loo but didn't feel the need to announce it. She could only apologise but at least listened. Quote
