Fog Dude
The final scores went into the first post last night just before Match of the Day, and the table has now been updated and uploaded too. In a low-scoring round, SNRN10's decision to pick late and sneakily not back his side really paid off. It's not within the spirit of the competition, but it's within the rules, and gets the last D2D out of the way, so I'll let it slide. Betting that late did get me worried about having to impose a points deduction though, so I'd ask people not to make a habit of that next season if possible. Anyway, he went for a draw in the featured game and - although neither he nor anybody else guessed there'd be 6 goals shared between the teams at St Andrews - he got it right and only 6 other participants didn't think there'd be a winner. This not only rocketed him away from danger and into the top half of the standings, it also gives him the second-highest number of bonuses this season. It does, however, still leave him a full 54 points behind leader MVP RULZ and even 26 points off second spot, so it's not really given him an unfair advantage. Without his bonus points, the only person into double figures would've been ultimo. There were four joint lowest scorers this time out, including hallicks, who's now a full 10 points adrift at the wrong end of the classification. As for the matches: Fiorentina's unexpected reverse in Sardinia and AC Milan's latest failure to win at home caught most people out, but many did correctly foresee Udinese's victory on the road at Bologna, albeit few managed a three-pointer there. Closer to home, Reading's emphatic triumph at The New Den was also useful mainly for one point rather than the exact score. In the top flight, there was a similar story at Craven Cottage, whereas failures away from home for Spurs and, even moreso, Man United costing lots of people a fair few points. The other two EPL outcomes proved the most fruitful, with the scoreline at Cardiff narrowly edging out the one at Goodison for being the biggest help to otherwise paltry totals this week. As I mentioned on Wednesday, you should look out for Harvey Dent, rather than myself, to start the following thread sometime in the middle of the coming week. Not sure exactly when or exactly where I'm going to make my picks for the next round, but I should be in a position to do the update for it and post the card for Week 29 from abroad, then things should run as normal throughout March.
