Dean and Ricky say he is a great guy because he overpayed talent when not drawing, paid on time even when not drawing and paid for injuries when not drawing among other stories he sounds like a very nice bloke.

He must have lost a shit load of money. Right?

Thats what opened him up to all this. It would be cool if someone had posted up Len's at it again Phase 2 for me personally. i would have wished him luck and meant it. But he's asking for other peoples money after paying for this and paying for that and having comparatively fuck all sucess. We may have discovered it and be ripping it apart but was it's intended audience some fool who didn't know the history.

I love wrestling and would possibly donate to something similar if I hadn't seen said person throwing money around and getting nowhere. What's

I always found Len to be a stand up bloke and he does care about British wrestling. I did not always agree with how he did some things but each to their own at the end of the day. What I do know is he was very passionate specifically with the production side of things and I do believe that had a good effect on British wrestling as it made others raise their game to the best of their ability too.

as for this new idea, I personally am not a fan of asking for money in this manner and given the fact that it's been highlighted that Lens business acumen is somewhat suspect given the fact he was apparently fleeced by wrestlers, then I don't think I'd want to hand money over if I'm being honest.

Again on a personal level I like Len and I don't think it's right people taking pop shots but that's come to be expected on forums I guess. All I know is he's always been right with me and I can't fault him for that.

I agree with this Len should be proud of what he did in giving away expensive equipment to use, editing, giving his time, covering other peoples fuck ups he made a significant contribution.

But it's not a business.

I'm out.

If Len finds sucess with the Indian distribution I will be straight in the thread to invest. (Or will it be too late).

This. This this this, x1000.

I think that some think (and I'm guilty of thinking this myself in the past) that there are people on here that thrive of the negative and even when someone like Len has good intentions with this venture it's an opportunity to dissect it and look for holes and tear stuff apart. That is fair enough as it may help for future reference but when it gets personal and people's character or morals are questioned with little or no knowledge of that person then it does become a bit of a feeding frenzy on here.

I don't know about professing to hate but it seems people sometimes buzz off the negative than the positive aspects of wrestling but again that could be the nature of forums nowadays.

Dean Ayass - rode coat tails of pretty much every 'major' promotion going- they usually head for deaths door not long after. Hugely over opionated for a man with zero talents, the looks of Jonathan Kings lovechild with a touch of downs, and the wit to match. Has been a leech on british wrestling for years, but gets work because hes a. Cheap, b. Mates with mark sloan and c. Pesters via email for months.

Len Davies - "nice bloke n all that - no fuckin clue". Ran terrible shows with he sole idea of havng videos of women wrestlers to wank over. Good on any wrestler who fleeced him for cash - he agreed to the fees if hes such a shit business man by not doing basic home work then he deserves everything he gets.

Ricky Knight - mr carny. Just because youre fat doesnt mean youre tough, so i,m sure there is no reason to be scared of you. If you think that people who go on the net are all "keyboard warriorz lol" then why the fuck do you populate the place with ads for your shows? Why show up as mr voice of reason, nice guy Ricky Knight every single fucking time theres a thread about brit wres sleaze. Theres only one succesful, talented promoter in the Uk and thsts Dixon - certainly not you mate.

Here's an article knocking about:

PERSONAL ATTACKS

by Len Davies

The last couple of days have been a total education on how petty and stupid some people can be. In the years that I was involved with British wrestling I ALWAYS tried to help out and support the industry, and the people who count do know that, and I have been in constant touch with them since coming out here looking for the way to start putting British wrestlers forward again. I now have that way with the new distributor and I've been planning the next phase of RQW TV for a while and a friend suggested that, instead of waiting until January which was my plan after income from the other shows has become steady to pay for the production, why don't I try Indiegoo.com as a platform. So I set up a project and launched it, looking for a measly $6,000 to get things working, and bear in mind I see film makers and musicians raising various levels of funding up to hundreds of thousands of dollars for their projects. I offered decent perks in the form of access to a lot of the footage I had plus a couple of corporate sponsorship slots, and then I get a message from a friend that I was being totally slagged off on a wrestling forum which I had stopped looking at for a couple of years as (apart from a few solid members) they are basically nothing more than a bunch of know it all idiots who've never stood up for anything of note and certainly hate to be recognised, hiding behind their computer screen names and classing themselves as experts in everything.

I was being called a conman and worse, so I went on just to try and correct some misconceptions, and I should have just stayed away. British wrestling's BIGGEST problems are forums like this and cowboy promoters, and while I admit that I allowed myself to be stiffed by some of the people I got involved with, generally the most of them are good honest people who'll stand up for the right things in the business and let the others know when they're in the wrong, and no matter what happens they will still stand by the industry even when it's being ripped apart. Mentioning no names but i've seen people who are constantly being ripped apart living off baked beans because they've given everything they had to the latest show or project and on many occasions I also gave my last penny to people in the industry who needed help. I don't shout that from the rooftops as I wasn't looking for a pat on the back or any other form of congratulations and I certainly never went to the press saying "look how good I am I just helped out this person and that promotion", but all of a sudden, FOR NO LOGICAL REASON AT ALL my acting was being attacked, one idiot said he wanted to punch me in the face, some other retard left a totally childish abusive message on my youtube video, and it was just a total personal slating that makes you think I'm a child abuser or something. RIDICULOUS!!!!! GET A LIFE YOU IDIOTS!

I seem to be getting things off my chest lately, which is ultimately a good thing, and while I don't regret the money, time and facilities that I invested into wrestling, I do hate the thought that idiots like these are allowed to slag off the very people in the very sport that they profess to love, and I very rarely hear a good word about anything from this particular forum, which is why I stayed away from it, and certainly won't be going back there now. I don't expect everybody to be a fan of RQW, and one person thought it was "the worst crap ever on TV" (and I do know who that quote came from and he is just a rancid jealous git who burnt his bridges and nobody would work with him), but ultimately the footage is quality, is being presented Worldwide now, will be earning money for the promotions involved and has the label "Made in Hollywood" on the new incarnations which works well for me.

Don, my distributor, has some contacts who might be looking to create original programming and I've given some quotes which he thought could work so hopefully that will be kicking in very soon too.

So here we are on July 4th and this year I'm editing instead of celebrating at CBS studios like I did last year, but I know that later the fireworks will be hitting it off big time in the local area so sitting outside should be a sight.

Back with happier thoughts tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Do or do not - There is no try!

Ok Len paid stupid money because he came from the media of tv where stupid money is paid for the simplest tasks. He always had a passion for wrestling and to be fair came in the hard way driving vans, MCing and refereeing as a hobby to his tv work. After a few months of that he wanted to invest some money in the business and whammo the business had found a mug who had money to burn. Instead of putting it to good use people thought lets take him for what he is worth rather than this could be a real good thing for the industry, a man with great media knowledge with a few quid. Len put faith in people he thought were pals but did not realise the pay structure of wrestling so on advice was paying crazy money for talent IMO Len also wanted to run before he could walk. Yes he lent stuff to people and was over generous which i spoke to him about but Len trusted people and could see no wrong in anyone, imo that was his downfall not dishonesty. It seems to me all on here who actually met or worked with Len say he was a stand up guy, they cant all be wrong.

Len Davies LOL.

Mate, you were a cowboy promoter - you sold 75 tickets for a venue which holds up to a thousand. $6000 is an awful lot of money for some people, especially to be given to someone with no promoting or negotiating skills. If its such a piddling amount why not pay it yourself or ask one of your mates at CBS to fund it next time you are there. Thats if you can find an executive whilst you ransack the bins for leftovers.

Also, interesting that you liken a few negative comments from some "know all idiots" to being accused of raping a child. Very strange train of thought there Leonard.

I don't think there's much question that Len was a generous, stand-up, genuine guy. Even MartinQBlank's ridiculous post didn't say that. What it doesn't change is that he was a total mug, and everything you just said simply solidifies that in my mind, at least. He got taken for a lot of money because he's a mug, he thought he could run before he could toddle, because he's a mug, and he didn't get someone such as yourself (with a background in running shows on budget) in to help him run things, because he's a mug.

And Len? Your article is very disappointing. If you're going to say that people hide behind usernames online, that's not entirely untrue - however, that's the culture of the internet. A lot of people don't like to leave their names hanging out there for all to see. I'm Martin Worthington, btw - thank you for sending me Loud and Proud.

I agree all i have ever said is Len was not dishonest, i did help in the end and cut his cuts massively but it was too little too late, my point is if the industry had embraced him put his knowledge with tv etc with the right knowledge of the wrestling industry maybe it would have been a big step forward just seems a wasted opportunity to me.

Just to answer the point about advertising on here, there are some good guys on here and some to come to my shows not many but enough to make on update on here worthwhile, am i being a hypocrite i dont think so the people i am having a pop at know who they are as do the ones i get on well with.
