Nah, MMA Junkie are saying they were told just because Mir is doing it tonight doesn't mean he is the fighter doing it full-time with Anik.  Either way, you can't really go wrong with one of Mir, Florian or Bonnar on commentary.
kev2050
I know a lot of people don't like Mir on commentary because he can be a bit biased, but i prefer him on commentary to any other fighter. He just sounds a bit more excited to be watching the fights than others. I think Randy is very good too, if he just talked a bit more! Bonnar and Florian just come across a bit pedestrian to me. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 20, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 20, 2011 Mir get's a hard-on for certain guys but he's the best commentator of the fighters ive heard. Was never a big fan of Bonnar. Â thankfully that didn't spoil anything for me, but go stick that in the Strikeforce thread. Â Didn't know we had one. I'll post it there. I did give a spoiler alert though. cheers man
Pier Six Brawler
Fedor just beat Jeff Monson in Moscow. Putin was in the ring cutting a promo after the fight.
kev2050
The Fedor fight reminded me a lot of Liddell vs Horn. You could tell after the first round that there was no way Monson was going to win that fight. His stand up is no match for Fedor and he didn't even come close to a takedown. Credit to Fedor because his leg kicks looked good, and his hands looked decent, so it's a nice win for him to keep him motivated hopefully, but Monson looked like shit, looked like he was fighting in slow motion. Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted November 20, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 20, 2011 Anderson Silva is apparently out til June with a shoulder complaint. Looks like Chael will get a fight in the meantime. http://mmafrenzy.com/26711/ Â With the UFC wanting Silva/Sonnen II to go down, do you think Chael will get an 'easy' fight? I'm pretty sure they'll not want him to lose in the meantime.

Yeah, he could barely contain himself whenever he was commentating on Miguel Torres in the WEC. Agreed that I think he is much better than both Bonnar and the Fight Finisher. There's no way they'd give him someone like Munoz (who probably would be next in line, based on rank). Who ever he gets, it'll be someone susceptible to his Rasslin' and a striker primarily. Monson is pretty much done as an MMA fighter, which is probably why he was chosen to fight Fedor. From what I've heard, his back is that fucked that he can't even sit on a plane these days, and has to kneel in front of his seat after take-off. Paid Members Dead Mike Posted November 21, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 21, 2011 Given that when they fought last time Silva had a broken rib claiming he's ducking him is ridiculous.
