Chaka Demus
"Skint" Rangers offer more money than Celtic for Weiss  RANGERS have struck a deal to sign Manchester City kid Vladimir Weiss on a season-long loan. The SPL champions swooped to secure their second signing of the summer from under the noses of Celtic.  SunSport can reveal Gers manager Walter Smith first enquired about the Slovakian midfielder six weeks ago just days after Hoops gaffer Neil Lennon declared his interest in him.  But Gers have won the race for the World Cup star after agreeing a fee with City late last night.  Weiss, 20, will jet into Glasgow today to complete his 12-month loan move.  City boss Roberto Mancini is convinced Weiss has a big future in the Premier League but wants him to gain more first-team experience.  It's understood the fact Gers are playing in the Champions League was a major plus for Mancini.  Weiss, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bolton, becomes Smith's second signing in a week following the arrival of James Beattie.  But Nikica Jelavic insists he hasn't a clue if he will join them at Ibrox after accusing Rapid Vienna of turning his on-off transfer to Gers into a farce.  The Croatian hitman is desperate to join Gers, but the Austrian outfit have vowed to start him in their crunch Europa League qualifier against Aston Villa tonight.  That would put his proposed
BrianR
Aye Robertson did make it easy but Alloa played well. Some Livi fans seem to think they were thugs but they were just playing to their strengths. If Livi players don't want to be 100 per cent committed then that is their problem. Â It was an excellent game mate, and was happy with Alloas spirit ito come back twice. Ball possibly crossed the line in the last minute but hard to tell. Quite annoyed with some of the Livi fans who claimed their team were kicked off the park etc, but they'd better get used to teams like that- Stenny for example. Â I think Livingston will win the league but certainly wont run away with it. Â Chaka Demus- think Lennon tried to buy British, but none of the British players he was after wanted to come to the club.

David
"Skint" Rangers offer more money than Celtic for Weiss All that means is that Celtic weren't quite as interested in getting him as Rangers were.
Chaka Demus
"Skint" Rangers offer more money than Celtic for Weiss All that means is that Celtic weren't quite as interested in getting him as Rangers were. Â Not entiely. While they may no longer be looking at him the press in Scotland have constantly had digs at our financial circumstances in recent months. While Celtic's debt has gone up ours has come down. That combined with champions league money, the exodus of players that have left our wage bill has put on on a level playing fieldm with Celtic. We don't need to buy in bulk like Neil Lennon has (That's not supposed to be a negative comment) because we have a core of players who already know what it takes to win the SPL. Â It'll be interesting to see how the amount of players who have no experience in british football he's brought in cope with the harsh winter trips to teams that kick you off the park like Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and he rest. Â The point I was making is that Rangers, while in financial trouble are clearly on the road to recovery. Sure, it will probably take 4 or 5 years to completely balance the books but we wouldn't be signing players or bidding 4Million for players if we were as skint as the Scottish Press would have you think. And our transfer dealings will hopefully put to bed the hillarious threads on Celtic forums over the last year about us "Going into administration within 48 hours" and how we can't afford to pay the electricity. Or how the fact that our website was down for a day in february meant we couldn't even aford to pay for web hosting.

Why the laugh? Six players sold, one player in and possibly someone in on loan (it's not official yet) and you are back on an even financial footing?  Celtic would need to go out and burn

DoctorWho
tims just announced they are 5.8 million in debt gers are 23/24 million.... 20 of which is a bank loan being re-paid at 1 million a year which we can now afford as have knocked off a good 7 or 8 million... so really.. gers in much more sound financial position that tic, considering your season tickets are down again for the 3rd season in a row and again there is no champions league football, the tics turn over will be even worse next season, while rangers will only improve  come on sir wattie, 3 in a row
