Loki
Police should try and disperse the student protesters by dropping an ironic stack of signed Pat Sharp headshots out of a helicopter. Â Or put a sign saying "241 on Pints Of Stella" outside the back door of a paddy wagon.

Happ Hazzard
A posh sounding twat was just on the BBC comparing these protestors to the suffragettes. Some people really need to get a grip on themselves.

Happ Hazzard
http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society...k-201011103243/ Â BRITAIN BACKS MIDDLE CLASS CHILDREN WHO WANT THE MOON ON A STICK Â BRITAIN today threw its weight behind middle class children who deserve everything handed to them on a plate because they're all so very special. Â As spoiled young people who think they know everything attacked the police, across the country millions of ordinary workers cheered them on and said they were the best people in the world. Â In central London, more than 50,000 lazy, pretentious, self-absorbed protesters said it was vital for Britain's future that the cost of their education should not be allowed to eat into their handsome, white collar salaries and their capacity to pay for shitty, new world music and holidays in the less touristy parts of Italy. Â The protest had already attracted widespread support even before the middle class youngsters had injured some policeman, broken some windows and frightened dozens of people who had been working since nine o'clock this morning instead of watching Cash in the Attic or asking their parents for an increased limit on their credit cards. Â Meanwhile prime minister David Cameron has cut short his visit to China and is flying back to the UK so that he can meet with the middle class children and apologise for threatening to make their adult lives very, very slightly less affluent. Â The prime minister's spokesman said: "They are heroes, plain and simple. I could try and condemn them for injuring policemen and damaging private property, but it would be a transparent lie. Â "We're now going to let them run the country for the next two years because they're so clever and special and they know how everything works." Â Roy Hobbs, an ambulance driver from Grantham, said the lazy, middle class children who think they are so fucking brilliant had inspired him to have a lie in tomorrow before quitting his job, taking someone else's money and then punching a policeman if anyone objected. Â He added: "I would go down to London and join them if only I was as wise and clever as they are. Â "I'm not fit to lick the boots their parents bought them." Jonathan Ford
As a student, I have no problem whatsoever with the proposed increase to tuition fees. This strikes me as anothe case of people wanting lots, for not very much, and mirrors exactly what is happening to the NHS. Â Firstly, when a university education meant something, and was the springboard to a professional career, I believed that university education should be free. However, skip forward twenty-thirty years, and with a targeted 50% of the population expected to attend university (as opposed to what...15-20%?), the whole thing looks pretty unsustainable. A similar thing is happening in the NHS. When the service was established, it was expected to meet NEED. Now, it is expected to pander to WANT, and cannot cope. Â University should not, in my opinion, be an opportunity to "find yourself" at the taxpayers expense, without it leading to a meaningful career. Of course, the flipside to this is that if a young person does not go to university, there's not much else around at the moment for them to do thanks to the erosion of the manufacturing and heavy industry sectors...
