WU LYF 4 LYF
We are grim if we don't win from this position, weather permitting. I still see Australia getting at least 300 though. Edited July 17, 2009 by anarchistxx
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted July 17, 2009 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 17, 2009 I'll be happy if they get under 338.5 as that's the spread I sold them at.
Baz Windham
Superb session there. All round great bowling performance when the ball still isn't doing loads. The pressure built and there were some ordinary shots from the Aussies. Everything pretty much clicked. Hopefully get them to follow-on and see how they go 2nd time round, it'll be tough to do it again but hopefully they should. Without the 47 from Onions and Anderson they'd already be very close to avoiding the follow-on.This whole lights business adds more sillyness and confusion to cricket though. Both teams agree to play under them and they still go off and players still moan about shadows etc. Either not bother with it and don't agree or get on with it. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted July 17, 2009 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 17, 2009 Just waiting for the Aussies to blame their collapse on the lights. They will have to blame something. They can't help themselves.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted July 20, 2009 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 20, 2009 I've got a very bad feeling about today. If we don't get at least two wickets in the morning, I think we're fucked.
Ricc1PW
I can see us losing today. striking early is the key. Â I'm hoping Freddie can bowl like he did early yesterday and drag us across the line. If we get one early its ours for the taking.
Baz Windham
I have several spare pants at the ready today. But yeah my natural pessimism thinks it isn't looking good. If these two even put on another 50 i think it could be game over and that 4th innings record will be smashed by 100. If we get one early then i think we'll get the momentum back. Gonna be a tight one though!
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted July 20, 2009 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 20, 2009 The thing is that we actually bowled pretty well yesterday but they batted really well and this is still a very good pitch. Need some results with the new ball.
Baz Windham
Yeah i thought that, yesterday you couldn't really fault England in any major way, they kept plugging away and nobody was really poor, like you say those two (BASTARDS!) batted well and were determined. C/WMark Please!
I think England will pull it off unless rain messes the Test match up.
SteelEdge
Another wicket down, only 2 more to go. Surely we've got it in the bag now.
Baz Windham
GET IN THERE! I jumped up and down when Flintoff got his five-for, what a moment for him. Superb bowling this morning and a lot less painful than it could have been
C/WMark Please!
First time England have beaten Australia at Lords in 75 years. Â The day is worth celebrating for sure!
Ricc1PW
I don't know what we so worried about! Â Freddie does it again!
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted July 20, 2009 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 20, 2009 Yes, great bowling from Flintoff but a good team performance - almost everyone chipped in, which was good, and Swann also bowled really well - far better than at Cardiff. Â I think England will stay unchanged for the next match barring injuries although I might consider Sidebottom in for Onions for some variety. If Pietersen isn't fit, Bell should come in. I reckon Australia might play 5 bowlers and we might see Lee come in for North.
