What WWE themes by licensed bands were recorded but never used on TV?

A friend said Drowning Pool performed the song the Game for the Wrestlemania 18 entrance only.

Im pretty sure Triple H used this theme on more than one occasion on a Raw for instance but cant remember when.

Any ideas?

It was only used for WrestleMania, if I recall correctly.

Many of the tracks on the WWF Aggression CD never made it to TV, and if they did, it wasn't for long - examples include the Big Show's track and The Rock's, which were only on for a couple of weeks, maximum. Others lasted for a while, such as Run DMC's take on the DX theme. Similarly, Saliva recorded King of my World for Chris Jericho, but it wasn't used for long. He did enter to it at Survivor Series 2002 at MSG when Saliva performed it live from The World.

Kinda shame really why do themes idf they re not going to be used? Alough least Austins was on their regulary and Dudleyz. Alough Litas I remember always used. That Game one is quite cool and Im sure it was on one Raw as they advertised the cd around the time.

Speaking of Austin though, didn't "Hell Yeah" which was on (I think) WWF The Music Vol 4. Get made for him, only to be turned down by him afterwards?

Although after re-jigging the lyrics a bit, they did re-use the tune for Batista a few years later.

I fucking loved that Run DMC DX tune.

On Puroresu Central in PC Awards 2009 section there are few sentences about Pro Wrestling NOAH British website. It exactly looks like that:

To call this a once in a lifetime opportunity sadly would be true. This was purchased on June 15th from NOAH's official English website, currently they are selling a Misawa and Morishima Autograph DVD, this one is autographed by Misawa and Akiyama. I knew they were selling it since at the time I was about to buy it anyway (I already have autographs by KENTA, Marufuji, and Kobashi). After I heard he died I quickly went to the site to grab it as I was afraid they'd sell out. But I got two, with the idea of giving one away on the site. Well that time is now, the grand prize is this autographed DVD, never opened.

I couldn't find it with Google. There's only page with few Misawa photos but not merchandise at all. Do you have a link to that NOAH site?

Why does the FWA comment on the piledriver being banned. Have I missed a bit of a story or is there something planned with it.

If they really don't want any one to use it they just wouldn't mention it, as no one would walk home and say "hold on, by jove there was no piledrivers on that show", so I assume its involved some where, is there a story or something I've missed?

First show I went to I waited all night for some dastardly person to hit one as it seemed the logical thing after being told I wouldn't see one, but it never occurred and didn't on the next show. It got a boo both times and like I say no one would really notice if nothing was said.

If it's of any help, I remember them making a pretty big deal out of it when it happened in the old FWA. The ban followed shortly after WWE's, and IIRC there was no storyline reason for it at the time, but a while later the payoff to the Nikita 'bounty' angle was Sweet Saraya killing her dead with a Tombstone, which was treated as ultimately heelish as piledrivers were banned.

I would imagine they will probably use a similar thing at some point down the road - I think it's worked really well with Eric Young in TNA, particularly as TNA present it as breaking an unwritten code. For all the things wrestlers do to each other, Young comes across as a real nasty bastard using that as a finish, despite it being a move you routinely see effective jobbers stagger up from if you watch Vintage Collection.

Thanks for that, at least I know of some back story. It just seemed really odd to mention it every time like it was part of something or building to some big heel it up moment.

Another perspective to bear in mind is that the piledriver is officially banned in lucha libre.

The reason they probably mention it everytime is because if they didn't, then the one time they do mention it it'd be obvious that there will be a piledriver later in the show. Like when promotions don't announce time limits, then suddenly, just a regular match, they announce it's a 20 minute time limit, you pretty much know it'll be a time limit. Clever move by FWA really.

There was just a bluey on TVX called "Horny City Hospital" that was made a couple of years ago. I caught the credits, and it featured a "Mark Sloan". Is it the one from FWA/Here? Stefan Hard was the cameraman for it, it said, so at least one wrestler was involved!

"Mark Sloan" used to pop-up (literally) on porn films when I had chipped On Digital back in the early part of the decade. It's not the same one thank god.
