  1. Great news IMO. The potential film catalogue improves Disney+ no end for me not to mention the ABC sitcoms. I've been gagging to watch Home Improvement, Happy Days, Roseanne, Mork & Mindy, Spin City, Hanging with Mr Cooper again for ages. Of course they may not turn up but if they are going anywhere.

Who's in this cast? I'm not overly familiar with any of the voice cast for Seige and Earthrise. Cullen not voicing Prime is always lamented. Although there is something to be said for not over using him.

Not sure if you mean MOTU or Earthrise but here's MOTU.

Yep. Something to do with Netflix “not going Union”. I’m guessing it costs more to hire actors from the Screen Actors Guild so it’s a cost saving exercise. Shame as I’m sure Netflix could’ve afforded them.

It's an odd one because Netflix have an insane cast for the up coming animated of Universe series. Seems really odd that they wouldn't at least get Welker and Cullen for it.

  4. Just watched the Fresh Prince Reunion special on BBC iplayer. Lovely trip down memory lane as it's been a while and I was big fan back in the day. It was really lovely seeing them talk about production and particularly James Avery.

I thought she was having a meltdown. I don’t know why I thought that but when it actually turned out to be a real invisible man I was kinda disappointed that we weren’t living her nightmare.

Well that's odd. Had you imagined it that way?As that would be much shitter than the actual film which does a terrific job of slowly building a discussion of gaslightling.

Just seen that Tony Schiavone said on the post show that they’re getting a new TNT belt as the one they gave Brodie Jr is being retired. Brodie had said on Unrestricted I think that his son slept with that belt every night when he was home. So that’s why they gave him the real belt and not a replica at the end. So he could truly be TNT champion for life.

Made it all the way through the tribute show without cracking but reading that set off the water works.

A wonderful tribute. Truely classy and touching but at the same time somehow heartwarming and therapeutic.

It felt very genuine and not at all like a horrific grab for ratings. That being said I hope it did a huge number for them because I couldn't be more proud of how they handled that.

Going back to a recommendation I gave above my favourite Batman I've read recently is Batman: White Knight. Although that is a stand alone and non-traditonal.

Off the back of your recommendation I picked this up for myself. Really enjoyable. It took me a little to get into it. Maybe because Bats iis deliberately kept at arms length but it comes together really nicely.

Also checked out Batman Noel which I read with my daughter and bought for my mate for Christmas. Brilliant stuff. I think I'm going to try and read it with her every year in the build up to Christmas.

    City Slickers (Netflix)

TIL that Jake Gyllenhaal is one of Billy Crystal's kids in this. Otherwise mediocre aside from Helen Slater on a horse.

I think mediocre might even be a bit generous but I do still want to see the sequel whenever it shows up on a streamer. I remember them being all over the video shop as a kid but never saw either until the first cropped up on Netflix.

  9. Here's my lovely wife's first attempt at a Christmas dinner and my first as a vegan nob. It was my decision to go with Beyond Burgers as the meat substitute because I love them but honestly they only worked with gravy as they otherwise taste very burgery.

Gotta say though the roast potatoes were incredible she did me proud. Absolutely demolished two portions and stuffed. Traditionally my family don't do puddings until a few hours later because we inevitably over do it with the epic roast and today is no different.

Hope you all had a glorious Christmas dinner as well. Merry Christmas UKFF. You guys are top.

I think the worst part for her was having to work with Tom Hardy who she hated.

Ahh right that'll be it. It is a shame if she's up for it. But I guess if Miller has a proper vision for a prequel then it's the way it has to go.

  11. Interestingly, from what I can tell the US is the only place that has the Detectorists available on Blu-ray. So it seems like it must have a pretty good fan base over their.

  12. I've been doing a few Christmas specials the last couple of days and rewatched The Detectorists Christmas special last night. Then fell down the rabbit hole and rewatched the entire of series 3. Simply a joy. Brilliantly observant of some of the best aspects of British culture. I'd go as far as to call it beautiful. I'd love to know how it plays to an American audience, if it translates or if they are left with a million questions.

  13. I've always found KK2 a bit of a slog but that could be because when it was my brothers turn to pick a rental at the video store it was ALWAYS KK2. I don't dislike it but it's definitely a bit to long. Still some classic moments like the Miyagi/Kreese showdown and ice block chop.

KK3 was my favourite as a dumb kid. It took it back to the tournament style and Terry Silver was a brilliant character. Of course KK1 is far and a way the better film but back then I was a dope.

This is my current phone wallpaper...

I haven't felt this way about a show since Quantum Leap, and whilst it's not been running anywhere near as long, it may as well have been - the authenticity of having the original cast back feels as though i've been right there with them the past 30 years you know?  I'm not pretending it's a piece of art, with world class acting or anything like that, but its absolutely the blue print for how you revisit a classic franchise, and comes from effectively 'fans' developing and pitching the idea, rather than a studio going "shit, we're gonna lose the rights to that, quick...write me a spin off!".

This is exactly how I feel. I absolutely adore it. It's rare that I rewatch whole seasons of TV shows more than once but Cobra Kai I've watched probably 5 times at this point and it never gets old. The tone is so perfect a continuation of the KK franchise its remarkable.

Also my daughter loves it too which is always a bonus.

I'm so glad more people have seen it now. When it was on YouTube I was always terrified it would get cancelled as it seemed like I was the only person that had seen it.
