Yeah heā€™s in some deathmatch tournament tonight in Hull! If it wasnā€™t the other end of the country Iā€™d have been tempted with thatĀ

Had no idea this was happening and I live there. The Welly is an absolute shithole as well, which will have lent itself well to the deathmatch vibe

  2. Wes Steve Jennum-ing his way to the Semi Final is bullshit, not enough Sabre.

    Shows gone to pot lads

I just read this post to my partner and she loved it! She said they did the same thing at Leeds. Now sheā€™s telling me how she saw Capdown loads and wasnā€™t into 4ft Fingers. Sheā€™s saying how she had Capdown stuff on her bedroom wall and that wave of nostalgia has really cheered her up and put a smile on her face. So thanks for that!!

I remember seeing Capdown in a room above a pub back in 2001. First come first serve entry with a 50 person limit. Thinking back about it now it was probably incredibly dangerous to have that many people crammed into what was basically someoneā€™s living room.

The local rock club, which I think @BomberPatĀ DJed at, would without fail play Sublimeā€™s ā€˜Date Rapeā€™ followed by ā€˜Ska Warsā€™ to the point that Iā€™m certain the mp3 it was a rip of (the club used to use two disc-manā€™s) contained both tracks in a single file. Every week without fail, Date Rape then Ska Wars. Not that Iā€™m complaining, both are great songs

  4. First was the UK Hart Attack Tour in 1994. Bret & Bulldog v Owen & Neidhart was the main event. I was always a little gutted that we didnā€™t get Randy Savage in the place of Davey Boy, as was the card on the German leg of the tour in what were to be his final WWF matches. Ā
The undercard had a mixture of alright stuff. Razor & Lugar v HBK & Diesel and Alundra Blayze v Bull Nakano were probably the two best from an in-ring standpoint, but there was also Undertaker v Yokozuna in a Casket Match.

It was years until I went to another show after that when me and a friend started going to a bunch of the mid-00s indie stuff. There was one weekend where we went to Frontiers of Honor 2 in Orpington (I think?) and then went to 1PW in Doncaster the following night, and weā€™d joke about we were just like the boys making towns. We went to the majority of those first year 1PW shows before it all went tits up, and we went to the first NXT tour over here, Progress at Wembley, New Japan at the Copperbox. In fact I think that was the last wrestling show we went to together

  5. Anyone been or going to any of the dates on the RHLSTP Tour? Iā€™ve just booked tickets for the last date at Hull City Hall now that the guests have been confirmed. Tommy Cannon in one thatā€™s being recorded for release and Bob Mortimer which is apparently not being recorded.

They need to get Ospreay away from Callis as soon as possible

They need to get everyone away from Callis by sending him packing. No one is better off for having being associated with him

  7. I realise Iā€™m probably in the minority here, but why are they feeding Takeshita to Osprey?

Iā€™m sure it will be a good match and all, and that probably is the sole reason for it, but Osprey isnā€™t going to be losing his first match as an AEW roster member. You could argue that with such a foregone conclusion it really doesnā€™t matter who he faces, but Takeshita beat Omega twice last year and it now feels like that didnā€™t matter one iota.

If you want someone who can take a loss without losing momentum from it but still give Osprey a decent match, stick him in there with Brian Cage. Theyā€™ve worked together before in Warrior Wrestling but itā€™ll be fresh to most of the AEW crowd.

Like I say, Iā€™m probably reading too much into it, I just donā€™t feel like Takeshita should be the fodder for Osprey

So yeah Revolution is exciting and all that shite, but they've also announced that Dynamite is getting a new entrance set after the PPV and I'm weirdly more excited for that than Sting's retirement match. I hate the current setup. I hope they go for something big, mad and colourful and not just a bunch of LED screens.Ā

And hopefully means the end ā€œLight the fuse, bring the boom, dynamite!ā€

  9. Iā€™ve also started listening to The Gladpod, which is an interesting accompaniment if youā€™re rewatching the original show. The physical test just to try out to get on the show was crazy enough and has really given me an added level of respect for the condition that both the Gladiators and the Contenders are in

We need Generation Game next to complete our Saturday nights.

Didnā€™t they try to bring back The Generation Game a few years back? I want to say Mel & Sue presented it.Ā

I didn't even watch Ted 1 the movie because Seth Rogen.

Itā€™s one thing to avoid something because a certain actor is in it (I have that rule with Dominic Cooper) but another thing entirely to avoid things that theyā€™re not even in

  12. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it might have been, yet is also exactly what you would expect it to be.

Mark Osegueda is a very underrated vocalist, but I reckon heā€™ll have been given the ā€œmake it sound like Tomā€ brief. Hey, if heā€™s getting a pay day out it then I donā€™t begrudge him for it.

Boom just got my tickets. I suspect they won't be around long.

Iā€™d thought theyā€™d go pretty much instantly but I managed to bag a ticket for the Manchester show this morning. Does seem theyā€™ve gone now though, although See Tickets & Ticketmaster still have Balcony tickets for the London show
