Classic AEW move of presenting a random guy whose barely been featured and expect you to care. Also why give this TV time to Fletcher? Not a fan in any meaningful sense, but I caught them at Festivals a couple of times and they did put on a fun show. Another one of those where if you venture beyond the singles you’ll find some stuff that’s not too bad.

I do remember a mate of mine getting well pissy after Kerry King joined them on ‘What We’re All About’, asking why he’s “doing that shit with teeny boppers”. Kerry King would play with a mound of shit if you paid him enough (insert you’re own Slayer jokes here), but Sum 41 have never hidden away from saying how 80s Metal was a huge influence on them, so it will have been a big thing for them to get Kerry involved.

I also really liked the opening scene of the ‘Still Waiting’ video where they’re being rebranded by a Record Label Exec, as I can definitely picture that meeting having happened to either them or someone they know.

Just about to give Dave Lombardo’s ‘Rites of Percussion’ a listen. I’ve been looking forward to it since it was announced. While I was about guitar in my teens, I’ve really come to appreciate the importance of the percussion side of things in more recent years

Seems to be the case. AA, BB, CC, DD and EE are the ringside blocks, then A through are the ones further out, with ZA-ZE (in front of the East Stand) being the furthest away. This is the best quality pic I can find that shows the pitch seating

They could say that both will be on their respective brands but still have to defend their titles, building up challengers on both shows to “being the belts back” to the respective show.

I’ve thought that most of the final third of the album isn’t horrendous (Purify aside, that’s awful), but you have to wade through a lot of bad stuff to get to that.

Ive probably listened to 72 Seasons more times than I did Hardwired…To Self-Destruct already. There are parts of it that I really like, parts that I’m ok with and other parts where you’re left scratching your head, but I’ve come to expect that that’s just how Metallica are these days. They’re the biggest Metal band in the world, they answer only to themselves and at least they’re trying different ideas at times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it falls flat on its face, but at least they’re willing to give it a go. 
I’ll still listen to them over MegaDave any day

Not to start the whole ratings debate once again as that’s been done to death and each time we never get anywhere, but like clockwork they draw what’s considered a “ bad rating” this week (830,000) which means that next week…

As has been said by many, that opening promo was the shits and I can only assume that BCC Vs The Elite (with Takeshita subbing for Matt Jackson) is headlining Double or Nothing, because there’s no way they’re selling a PPV with either MJF vs Guevara/Allin on top or contrive their way to doing a Four Way.

Was there some crowd sweetening going on this week. There were a couple of times were there was noise but nobody seemed to be doing anything. In fact the crowd seemed to be pretty dead for most of the show
