What is the general consensus on MJFs title reign? I haven't seen much tbh but I'm going to start watching as going to Wembley.

200 Days on and he’s made 3 defences and had 6 matches in total, 1 of which was a Tag Team match and 1 that didn’t even happen in AEW. For all the shit that people (not on here) throw Roman’s way about hardly wrestling they seem to turn a blind eye to MJF doing the same.

The defences themselves have been pretty good, but they’ve lacked the stakes as the result was never doubt. As much as a lot of us like Bryan Danielson, I doubt that anyone genuinely thought he’d win the Iron Man match.
Same with the Four Way at Double or Nothing. As soon as they started that angle, which was clearly going to lead to a Four Way right from the off, it was blindingly obvious that they were never going to put the belt on any of the other three. And that’s not a knock on anyone involved, you sometimes need matches like that to get the Champion through to something bigger.

As for his mic work, it’s the same Shooty McShootison routine every time now, and it’s getting a little tiring.

That being said I still think his reign has plenty left in the tank, he just needs something to really get his teeth into. Is having a go at Adam Cole being a weedy nerd going to do it? Probably not, but it buys them some time to figure what they’re going to do with him for Wembley

  2. @pgi86 Yeah it’s totally normal now that e-tickets are a thing.

As for when they come through that seems to be a bit different and not always related to the size of the show. I saw Gojira earlier this year and my tickets didn’t appear until about a week before the show whereas when I booked tickets for my parents for *shudder* Peter Kay, the tickets showed up straight away despite the show not being until 2025.

  3. I gave up after 4 or 5 which included an “as you know” from when he attacked Cesaro, cos everyone remembers that, and stopped when I got to “as we delve deeper into the plot”, so admittedly I didn’t get very far.

I did like how things supposedly started just after Survivor Series 2019 then skipped right to Survivor Series 2020 in a very “and then for a while nothing happened” fashion. Oh no sorry, his path “violent and obstacle filled”. Anyone remember any of it?

  4. It’s been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks, but as you say it’s now getting picked up by the bigger English speaking outlets. It all started with someone making an accusation on Reddit, which seemed to implicate Joe Letz (drummer in Lindermann) more than Lindermann himself, but others have come forward since.
Is it odd that he hasn’t at least being brought in for questioning?

For that one lad spamming the thread asking where this will air in the UK, the first episode of Collision is now showing on FITE TV as airing live, as part of the AEW Plus subscription.

At least we can all sleep at night now

  6. So apparently Download is suffering similar traffic problems to what Slam Dunk did a few weeks ago, with miles of tailbacks reported (some estimate them to be about 8 miles).

It seems odd for them to suddenly develop this problem having run the same site year in year out for 20 years. Either they changed something they shouldn’t have or they’ve underestimated how much of a draw Metallica still are

They get progressively dumber and stupider but I find they're all pretty fun (although I haven't seen Fast X yet). Hobbs & Shaw is the point where it just becomes a superhero franchise though, it's a ridiculous film.

Have they gone into Space yet? That will surely the culmination, unless we then get Army of the Fast & Furious. “This, is my GEAR STICK!”

  8. It’s the scream from the production booth after he swears that gets me each time.

Their whole gimmick is that they’re no nonsense, so why would he apologise rather than make out it’s someone else fault.

Erm... no. They've used it in BTE in the past, they've talked about how it's one of their favourite songs, and it's a good entrance tune.

Since the song is clearly from the POV of the wayward son as well, I don't really see how it could be about Punk. Unless you're just hearing 'don't you cry no more' and reading a lot into it.

Ah, so it’s one of those “well they explained it on Being The Elite” scenarios, just like in the early days.

As for your second point, that and “there’ll be peace when you are done” are what I read to be taking aim at Punk, but as you say I could be reading something else into it.

And it’s not a good entrance tune, it’s shit

Additional opinion: I've grown into a Will Ospreay fan over the past year or so and him Vs Omega at FD will be brilliant, but I agree for All In that I'm hoping for a purely AEW card...with maybe one or two outside appearances/interferences, but not a full match from a non-AEW performer. If my bank balance was healthier this year then I'd probably go to the RevPro event the day before to catch Ospreay & whoever else. I'd even consider the Fozzy gig too just to get completely consumed in the vortex, but what with the Box Park AEW event on the day and whatever else is going on (hoping for WhatCulture event), it's gonna be expensive as it is

Your bank balance would be even healthier if you didn’t waste it on Jericho’s lip-synching

Have they? Outside of Omega and The Bucks clowning it up a little in one match, and Mox's immediate response, it seems like AEW has been really careful around how they've talked about Punk.

The Elite have been coming out to Carry On Wayward Son for nearly 9 months. You don’t think those opening lines arn’t aimed at Punk?

I know a few pages back there were mentions of special offers on Kiss tickets, doe anyone know if they're still on and where/how to get them? I'm not a massive fan, but if there's somehow an offer on for the London O2 date next month I might be tempted

With that date still being a month away I reckon they’re going to hope for a surge in sales. Probably best to leave it until closer to the date and see what they’re offering then. The 50% offer on Ticketmaster for Manchester is still working though

  13. Ah, my bad. I thought you were looking to get tickets. You do right trying to get you’re money back

The whole thing has been a disaster. They booked the same week as Download which has Metallica headlining two separate nights, what did they expect to happen.
All I can envision is that scene in Spinal Tap where they’re playing to about 15 people who are all there to watch the Puppet show that’s on afterwards

Apologies for missing this, I've been in a black hole (Scarborough) for the last few days.

They were just on the regular Ticketmaster page, but looking now it seems they've whacked the prices back up now it's a bit more full. Shady bastards.

There seems to be different offers for each venue. A mate of mine is off to the show in Birmingham tonight where they seem to be papering it like an episode of Nitro. He got a ticket and just had to pay the booking fee at the venue box office, so @SaitoRyo it might be worth just contacting the venue direct and seeing what they’re offering on the day

  15. While it is a possibility for All In at Wembley, if Osprey is still contracted to New Japan, which I believe he is until the end of January 2024 at least, then I can’t see New Japan allowing AEW to have the rubber match at their show with one of New Japan’s biggest names. I know that they’ve had New Japan talent on AEW before and obviously Forbidden Door is marketed as Co-branded, but as things are right now All In is an AEW show, not a joint show with New Japan. If the rubber match is happening anywhere it’s going to be at Wrestle Kingdom, because if Omega wants to work it, TK isn’t going to say no to him. And New Japan management probably know that

  16. Mad Capsule Markets were never my thing, although I would say that ‘All The Time In Sunny Beach’ was quite fun and ‘Tribe’ was nice and heavy for the time, but I can remember them being considered the greatest thing ever in the history of ever amongst some of our college group based solely on the fact they were Japanese. Anything from Japan was instantly 5 Stars (6 if it was something from Tokyo Dome) to some of our group. This was around the time people were seeing Ring and Battle Royale for the first time

  17. It’s been met with a lot of backlash on social media, despite it being known for at least a year that he was going to be in the game.

One thing that’s particularly got people’s gander up seems to be Owen taking a call and TK saying “hope that you’re well”

I feel like such a noob here, but what is a Season Pass?

Usually it’s all the Downloadable Content packaged together for a little cheaper than if you were to purchase them individually
