Has anyone else listened to the new Urne album (A Feast On Sorrow)?
Ive had it playing most of the week and am really enjoying it. You can tell that Joe Duplantier was involved in the making of it. Not quite the same tone as a Gojira album, but the band sound absolutely massive compared to their debut (which is also excellent by the way

@WyattSheepMask, Ive just stumbled upon this site. We're you there for the full night? What did you think of Beyst?
Sorry mate, only just seen this.
Yes I was there all night and I assume that youāre either someone in the band or some who knows someone in the band.Ā

Some absolutely deviating news coming out the weekend is that a man in his 20s has died on the campsite. An ambulance Was blue lighting past where we were camping at the time stated so it canāt have been far away from us (we were towards the back of Ironwood). Awful news and thoughts to his family

Back and showered from Bloodstock
Sepultura were fucking amazing as seems to be now customary, and managed to get on the barrier for Biohazard which was incredible and look forward to doing that again on Wednesday night.
Other highlights over the weekend for me were Heaven Shall Burn, who I can finally cross off the list, Abbath was an experience and Dave Mustaine getting pissy about being upstaged early on by an inflatable Unicorn.
Rain stayed away more or less completely until this morning and Iāve come home a new shade of red, but a great weekend all round.
ĀIf I never see that āBlack Sabbath - Live Evil: Expanded Editionā promo ever again itāll be too soon though

Wouldn't mind catching Zetra and Pest Control over on the second stage too, but it'll depend on how the clashes look.

Everything Matt Jackson does makes me want to cave his face in with a spade. No wonder CM Punk took a swing at him

He was asking for votes to be āfoundā on tapeĀ https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/03/trump-georgia-raffensperger-call-biden-washington-postĀ And thatās just the first thing I thought of, they canāt say he genuinely believed it had been stolen if he himself was trying to ask someone to lie about the number of votes surely?
Didnāt check Space though did he

I was just booking my taxi (because I live close enough to not be bothered camping as I've not been well for a few months) and noticed an "awaiting replacement" on clash finder so was about to ask what the deal was with that.
As ever any recommendations to not miss are welcome; I know Megadave, Ugly Kid Joe and Killswitch Engage (and did know Helloween). I think I've heard of In Flames and Celtic Frost.
Heaven Shall Burn are a big one for me as Iāve never had the chance to see them before.
Frozen Soul (Thursday - Sophie Stage) have just put a very acclaimed new album, Witchsorrow (Friday - Main Stage) are very good, Pest Control (Friday - Sophie stage) are gaining traction.
Gaerea (Friday - Sophie Stage, slight clash with first 15 mins of In Flames) are an up & coming group, as are Urne (Saturday - Main Stage).Ā
Tribulation (Sunday - Main Stage) put out a very good album a couple of years back as well as a solid EP earlier this year, then youāve got Sepultura (Sunday - Main Stage) who have really come into their in recent years and are o w of the best live acts youāll see all weekend. Triptykon (Saturday - Main Stage) playing a Celtic Frost set will be worth watchingĀOfnus (Sunday - New Blood Stage) have potential to do well, and Iām really looking forward to Biohazard (Sunday - Sophie Stage*) who are on a reunion tour right and seem to be really enjoying it
* Thatās where they are right now, but I think they could get bumped to the Main to fill the gap left by Helloween
-
For anyone heading to Bloodstock this weekend, Helloween have cancelled as Michael Kiske has laryngitis. Replacement to be announced later today, but I reckon theyāll bump either Zeal & Order or Biohazard to the main stage, with the other headlining the Sophie stage at the end of the dayĀ

Sad news about Friedkin, a good director. Ā Reading some of the obits, I saw mentioned a film of his I've not seen called "To Live and Die in L.A" which sounds pretty insane so that's getting a watch.
And presumably was where L.A.X got their catchphrase?
I always thought that was a 2Pac reference. Iāve never seen To Live and Die In LA so you could well be right

Ā£15 on FITE, even cheaper if you buy it through Roku

My favourite Miyazaki film! Got to see it.
Itās not my favourite (although I would say it is excellent for the most part) but Iāve had a change of thought since this morning. Fuck it, this is what credit cards are made for. Registered for when tickets go on sale and thatāll be the wifeās Wedding Anniversary present

Another stage adaptation coming to London.
Ā
Dam. Iām already going to see My Neighbour Totoro on its second run in February, no way I can afford a second London trip so soon afterwards.Ā
If itās a success Iām sure itāll be back so Iāll have to catch it then -

Does anyone watch the network on the ps4?
I give NXT great American bash a 1/10
Mainly because trying to watch it on the network was a very painful experience.
Trying to forward it either flies forward or barely moves
Ā
I tried it for the first time on there earlier and had these same issues. I skipped ahead on my phone to where I wanted to watch from and then rejoined on PS4 through the Continue Watching.Ā
Itāll probably be fine in a few weeks once they get the repackage all sorted, much like what happened last time. Roku I find still seems to the best way to watch -

After last night, they've gotta do MJF/Punk unification match at this haven't they?
I know they're in Chicago the following week but this show desperately needs a big time match and that's it right there .As much as the angle is great, MJF/Cole just doesn't feel like a stadium level event for me. Do an angle in the match at Wembley leading to an MJF/Punk/Cole three way at All Out or something.
Unify the belts at Wembley with MJF getting the win, then the following Dynamite he keeps his promise of giving Cole the first shot, only to attack Cole to realign the face/heel dynamic too

I donāt even think itās Bray that annoys me, itās the online detectives who think he can do no wrong.
āBut heās SO creative!ā - no he isnāt. You can tell whatever films heās watched recently because if youāve seen them too then your about to see them again, just ever so slightly different. And the lore, the fucking lore. Everything has to be a reference, or a callback, or a hint to something tat 9 times out of 10 isnāt even there to begin with.
āOh but if you take those numbers, rearrange them so that theyāre like this, theyāre the date of The Undertakerās untelevised debut against Mario Manchini from the November 19th 1990 Superstarsā - yeah, because why keep it fucking simple. Not everything has to be intricately connected.Ā
āAh, but if you go back to this promo from 3 years ago, he actually said this was going to happenā - yeah, because they have that much fucking foresight donāt they.
I can remember during the build to his match with Undertaker at WM31 someone giving out about how they never referenced that Undertaker had faced Brayās dad at Royal Rumble 95. Who gives a shit about that? Other than people who want to go āoh look! I know real names~!āI was willing to give him a chance when he came back. Heād had a long layoff due to various issues, and WWE was finding its feet in all the āpost/Vinceā stuff.Ā
Then you started to get all the Uncle Howdy bullshit, and it was all over after the neon lights match at the Rumble, helped by Pat McAfee killing the angle-.Ā
āwhose that?āĀ
āthatās Uncle Howdyā.Ā
āwell HOWDY DOODY SIR!āIn short, send him packing and let him make a living on the convention circuit or doing spooky vids for people on Cameo (if thatās even still a thing)
-
I realiseĀ Iām probably in the minority and just ādonāt get itā, but fuck me Juice Robinson is such an annoying tit. Not in that āheās well annoying, I hope he gets a kicking in this matchā kind of way, the āoh fuck off you annoying Cuntā/Seth Rollins way
