  1. These France jackets for their Olympic athletes are absolutely amazing.
  2. Thanks pal, but don't be. Rather not have negativity like that in my life. Everyone's family and path is different isn't it? Luckily I have a fantastic stepmum and my other sister had a wonderful mother in law who more than made up for it. Like I said, on a human level, I hope she's OK, and now I'm older I understand her past better and what she went through, and I sympathise (she is an alcoholic) but she's not part of my life, never will be, and I'm cool with that. And to be honest, I'm not sure I even hold a grudge anymore. It's not like she's Sol Campbell, who I will obviously hold a grudge against until the day I die
  3. I'll get over you, I know I will I'll pretend my ship's not sinking And I'll tell myself I'm over you 'Cause I'm the
  4. Yeah was a modern wave emo band called Sports and that annoyed me massively as well.
  5. Newdad, Personal Trainer, Mouth Culture, Carsick, In-Flight Movie, The Kokroachez (oh fuck off), Dude Safari, Dog Race. All on the same bill I saw today and all absolutely shit.
  6. Foley was famously a friend of Terry Spunk. Right I'm done. Sorry.
  7. They'll not sell much then. They were a DREADFUL band.
  8. I haven't spoken to my Mum for over 15 years. She's never met my children and never will, and while I don't hold any malice or hate towards her (after having had therapy for years I let go of all that negative energy, its not good for the soul) and actually feel sorry for her on a human level, I do not care if I never see or speak to her again. She didn't even come to my sisters funeral last year. And to top it off, she lost all my childhood and teenhood football shirts!
  9. Not show related, but this looks really fun! Lovely little nod to the show in there as well.
  10. Can't really think of the best thread so this will have to do. Just random videos from MTVs 120 Minutes.
  11. Will Osprey is one of the top 5 wrestlers in the world. He would adapt to any companies style or presentation easily. That's why he's one of the top 5 wrestlers in the world. He comes across as a massive star in AEW, just like he would've come across as a massive star in WWE. This constant argument that he wouldn't have is ridiculous. Sure he might not have been at the very top of the card, but there's zero chance he'd have been mixing it with Tozawa in the mid card (sorry Tozawa, no idea if you're even there anymore, you were just the first person to come to mind) At some point I really need to see him vs Logan Paul. Don't care where. Someone just book it.
  12. The sort of opinion you'd expect from someone from Helsinki.
  13. Next Goal Wins It's fine. It's obviously a heartwarming story and it's told well, and its exactly how I thought it would be, but it's still really bland and mawkish. The documentary is excellent, so maybe that didn't help as the story has already been told as well as it could with the actual people. Also, all the kits were absolutely shit. All Lotto jobs. That annoyed me. Taika Wahiti seems like a decent dude, and I've liked pretty much all his films, but I reckon he needs to take a break for a few years as his style and presentation is becoming really formulaic and boring. 6/10
  14. You God damn right it's the best choice!
  15. Just been reminded of a band called English Teacher in the gig thread, and recall seeing the most dreadful band name recently and that's Borough Council. BOROUGH COUNCIL!!! They might be the best band in the world but I'll never be listening to them. The absolute state of it. Other ones that have upset me recently are Soft Play, Personal Trainer and The Snuts, as it's just an annoying word to say. Jealous Nostril another shite one. Off to shout at clouds and form a band called Repairs Department, or the In-Trays.
  16. Thought it might be better to start a new thread for this. My film viewing start to 2024 has been a bit haphazard, so I thought I would focus on watching some sports films. No set amount, no time, just more sports films. Or until I get bored. Of course "sports" isn't really a genre so this might be a bit messy, but feel free to suggest things (No PunkStep, I won't be watching fucking Fever Pitch. Stop bloody telling me to) *first time. Bull Durham* First time watch for me, and my word what a film. I wasn't quite prepared for how BONK! it all is, but there's shagging all over the gaff. Robbins is nailing someone in the changing room within minutes of the start, and it only gets hornier from then on. Susan Sarandon is phenomenonal, might be the best performance I've seen from her, and big Kev nails his role as a "washed up" catcher. His speech here is superb, and funny that he mentions Oswald, given he would go on to debunk what he says here. I always like things like that. 10/10. Cool Runnings God, what a film. I truly think this is one of my favourite films, and makes me blub like a baby at the end every time. It's so much more than "funny film we all liked as kids" and has such a wonderful heart, and that heart is sportsmanship and John Candy. When Irv says: "Derice, a gold medal is a wonderful thing. But if you're not enough without one, you'll never be enough with one" My word. The thing that made him so good is not only his ability to make you laugh, but also his ability to make you feel. Wonderful talent, sadly missed. Wicked soundtrack as well. 9/10. Rookie Of The Year* Forum friend (is that right?) Thomas Ian Nicholas is a shit Little Leaguer who breaks his arm and the doctor repairs it with the tendons too tight (was slightly distracted at the start so that might not be 100% right) which results in him having a super fastball, so naturally he joins the Cubs for the year. This was bloody great, and Candy's in it, along with Gary Busey, Duncan from Duncans Toy Chest, Janitor from Scrubs, and Daniel Stern, who also directed. Stern is actually really bloody irritating (at one point he gets stuck between 2 internal room doors in a hotel where he should've died quite frankly) but that's a minor criticism of what is a really good family film. He has this stupid bloody 'one side of his mouth open' face the whole film ffs. 7/10. Ali I did see this when it first came out and I can't remember a single thing about it. It's a good film, it's well made, Will Smith is great (and I always think its brave when an actor takes on someone so iconic), has a good supporting cast but ultimately its quite boring. Had zero idea that was Voight as Howard Kosell which is bloody impressive. 6/10.
  17. I know we already have a thread, but it's full of someone who I'd rather not have to see the posts of. Anyway, eldest wants a player for her birthday/Christmas so please give me your recommendations. I'd rather an all in one system with speakers but happy to be talked into otherwise. The price of vinyl these days, she will be taught very quickly that the bulk of a collection is made up of second hand gems/markets/boot sales and charity shops. I've already bought her a couple and was pleased to find Dark Side Of The Moon for 15 quid (everyone should own that on vinyl surely?) which is a good price for me. Also started following that Cheap Vinyl twitter account but recommendations on decent sites and shops (let's be honest, just in my small area of Hampshire) would be welcome too, as well as seeing all your lovely set ups and collections again!
  18. As well as being a crisp nonce and a football shirt nonce, I am also a bit of a soda nonce. I love fizzy drinks and drink far too much of it if I'm honest. There might very well be a cost of living crisis going on, and I like everyone else, have had to make sacrifices, but I still will think nothing of spending £2 on a can of Fanta if its something I have never had before. Which doesn't sound a lot but it is to me. I also just really like trying things I've never had before or things that you can't normally get, similar to crisps. Clearly, and there will be NO debate about this, Coca Cola original is the best. THE BEST. But these are some I've enjoyed recently. Also, all cold drinks welcome and most of these aren't fizzy. For instance, I've tried most of the Prime drinks, and they're alright, far too sweet for me, but I can see why my 10yo likes them. Some of these purchases are her strong arming me into getting them, but I need very little cajoling. Coca Cola Quebec Maple I was REALLY looking forward to this, and it was nice, but a bit too close to Pepsi for my liking. I do like Pepsi, and will drink it, but it's not a go to for me. You can taste the maple syrup flavour, which is great, but a tiny bit disappointed. 6/10 Mountain Dew Fruit Quake Just fucking rank. Like drinking raisins. 2/10 Mountain Dew Spark Raspberry Lemonade Forgot to take a photo, but this is wicked. Like drinking refreshers. 9/10 Various Gatorade and a Peace Tea I enjoy a Gatorade, so these were all good, but the apple one (green) was the standout. Will definitely be buying again. The Peace Tea was outstanding, and now pick up one whenever I see them. 8/10 Sprite Lemonade Legacy Obviously I bought this for the hip hop themed can, but it was really nice. Strawberry Lemonade is always a winner in my opinion. Have I, a 38 year old man, kept the empty can? Maybe. 8/10 Arizona Mucho Mango A fairly insipid effort if I'm honest. Not worth what I paid for it all. 4/10 Arizona Fruit Punch Much better. Not too sweet, and a nice mix of flavours, even though I can't tell what they are. 7/10 I also got this cool Coca Cola bottle but it just tasted of normal Coke (Obviously a good thing) So there you have it. It's clear, that just like with crisps, I am easily swayed by a gimmick drink, and love to try anything "new" looking even if it's not something I particularly like. For instance I don't even like Dr Pepper, but you better believe I'll buy one if I see a new flavour. I had a Jurassic Park one recently. It was shit. So what are your go-to's? Anything interesting recently? Do you mainline Pepsi like SpursRiot used to? Are you a drinker of Satan's spunk aka Diet Coke?
  19. Far, far too much talk of ratings on this forum these days. Is it 1998? If you want to discuss ratings, pop your shit in here away from the eyes of the rest of us. Next, fantasy booking.
