What's the story behind some people always writing Simmonz on here as "SIMMONZ!!"?

It's because popular, happy, babyface Andy "Boy" Simmonz turned nasty. Now he's an angry little man. Angry at the world. Angry at you.Andy Simmonz just doesn't get that across like ANDY SIMMONZ!! does. Edited by UK Hat Guy

Bubblegum and Ligero are both well deserving of being in the top 10. would have liked to have seen ross jordan in the top 10 also.

Bubblegum and El Ligero have always been value for money whenever I've seen them perform (would not be surprised if one of them made the top 5) Ross Jordan maybe not so much

One of the most established, well-known and recognisable stars of British wrestling suffers a 7-place drop in the rankings, just clinging on to a top 10 finish.

Whereas fellow Brit babyfaces Jody Fleisch and Spud found themselves booed during ROH's Liverpool show in August 2006, Jonny was well-received as he took part in a naff 4-way with Spud, Matt Sydal and Colt Cabana. The next night, he, Fleisch and Spud had a better (but worthless) 3-way match in Hoddesdon, Herts on the 2nd night of the ROH tour, a rematch of their FWA match there almost a year beforehand. 5 days later, Storm and Fleisch represented Team FWA at "Frontiers of Honor II", losing to Team ROH's Briscoe Brothers in a decent-but-forgetable match in Swanley (boo). The next day, Storm and Fleisch headed up to 1PW (where they were the reigning World Tag Team Champions) for a duff draw against Cabana and Darren Burridge at "Invincible", which led to a 3-way ladder match (also including no. 1 contenders Tracey Smothers and Chris Hamrick) being signed for the "1st Anniversary Show" in October.

After the really poor ladder match saw Storm and Fleisch lose their belts to Burridge and Cabana, the "Wonderkid" head back to the Broxbourne Civic Hall in Hoddesdon for IPW:UK "Hotwired" the very next day. Though he was technically a heel in IPW:UK (and member of the Untouchables faction with Martin Stone, Dave Moralez and Jack Storm), Jonny tended to forget every now and then (or wasn't reminded), and sought the cheers of the fans in his match against Paul Robinson. As such, courageous underdog Robinson found himself being booed. Incidentally, October also saw the latest incarnation of the never-ending Storm vs. Fleisch series, as they exchanged nip-ups and stand offs for EWW in Oxfordshire.

November saw the IPW:UK vs. FWA feud in full swing, as the two warring promotions fielded teams of 3 for an elimination match at "Brawl at the Hall" in Orpington in November. In a superb angle, FWA's Alex Shane took IPW:UK ring announcer John Atkins and IPW:UK promoter Daniel Edler hostage in the middle of the ring. Jonny came running out to make the save...only to turn on IPW:UK and be revealed as Team FWA's mystery 3rd man for the tag match later that night. Storm, Iceman and Jorge Castano defeated Spud, Dragon Phoenix and Leeeeeeeee Roooooooooooyy KINCAIDE in an incredibly heated match to give FWA the advantage in the feud.

Facing perrenial opponent Fleisch and new sensation Pac in 2 separate 3-way matches in the space of a week, Storm came out victorious at 1PW "Fight Club IV" in Doncaster but fell to Pac in the wild, exciting rematch at XS-W in Gloucester. A week after this, Storm wrestled Pac again in Colchester in December, this time as a part of the FWA vs. IPW:UK war. Storm and Pac clearly forgot that this was supposed to be a heated, hate-fuelled grudge match as part of one of British wrestling's greatest rivalries at that time, contesting a clean-cut, sporting gentleman's contest at IPW:UK "The Dome Show", beginning and ending with a handshake. Storm even raised the hand of the winner Pac, and hugged him. Hmmm. That night was the XS-W "Gorefest" 18+ show and while Jonny didn't feature in the feature attraction King of the European Deathmatch tournament, he did feature as one of the particpants in the never-ending 5-Minute Warning rumble/elimination match, which would have been really good if it wasn't for the fact that the show was running about 37 hours late by this point...

2007 opened with the new that 1PW was apparently going down the shitter. Storm was to take part in the hastily-arranged 1PW tribute show "Will Not Die", but first he and Kid Kash were dumped out of the RQW British Tag Team Title tournament in a lousy first round bout by ANDY SIMMONZ!! and Aviv Maayan. Then, a day later at "Will Not Die", Storm and Fleisch made up the numbers in a 3-way which saw the 1PW tag titles switch from Burridge & Mad Man Manson to Dragon Aisu and Majik. February saw another Storm vs. Fleisch vs. Pac 3-way, this time in RQW. Fleisch won a so-so match to become no. 1 contender to the RQW British Heavyweight Title, and also meaning that the wins in their trio of 3-way matches had gone 3 separate ways...

Back to IPW:UK vs. FWA. Spud (IPW:UK) beat Storm (FWA) in a really good match at "No Escape 2007", which was every bit the heated and exciting grudge match that the Pac vs Storm IPW:UK vs. FWA match should have been. Jonny did not play any further part in the storyline, which came to a head in March at "Final Frontiers". Jonny didn't play any part in ROH's return trip to the UK in March, but April saw him to go the final of a one-night tournament to declare a "Portsmouth" no. 1 contender to the IPW UK Championship. The "Wonderkid" beat eXodus in the first round, before falling to James Tighe in the final. April also saw the "Ressurection" of 1PW, where he and Fleisch were in yet another 1PW mutli-way tag match, falling to FWA Academy teams EntouRAGE (Mark Sloan and Ollie Burns) and the Chavs (Mills and Skinz). He then went back to RQW after a 1-month absence, where he lost another 3-way, this time to Ross Jordan (in a bout also featuring PWG World Champion El Generico). Jonny then made his return to IPW:UK in May, where his sins against the promotion were seemingly forgotten as he teamed with Martin Stone to defeat Jack Storm and Dave Moralez in a Former Untouchables vs. Untouchables tag match. The unexplained heel Jonny then fought El Generico again, this time in 2 separate bouts for 2 separate titles across 2 days at the "Know Your Enemy" weekend. Firstly, the "Generic Luchador" beat Jonny to retain the PWG strap on Night One, before both Storm and Generico (and Doug Williams) were beaten in a 4-way as Pac retained the 1PW Openweight Title.

While Jonny has been an undercard player for all of the promotions described above (and many more, including Celtic Wrestling and WrestleFest), he has been the lead babyface in the FWA/XWA, and his quest to become British Heavyweight Champion has been that promotion's main scenario over the last 12 months. Already super-over with the Morecambe fans after leading Team FWA against Team All Star and having been betrayed by FWA British Heavyweight Champion Hade Vansen, Storm got his title match (and chance at revenge against both Vansen and All Star's Robbie Brookside) in a fantasic 3-way eliminationmatch at "Summer Classic" in July 2006. It was the Vansen vs. Storm situation that allowed anti-FWA heel Brookside to claim the gold that night, but Jonny was immediately the guy who set out to bring the gold back home. He finally defeated year-long rival Vansen in the main event in Rugby, before getting sidetracked with a 3-way Essex boys series against Darren Burridge and Paul Tyrell, which took in matches in Sudbury and Chippenham. Back up in Morecambe, Storm won February's "Gold Rush" rumble to secure his long-awaited title match against Brookside, the match being set for the next Morecambe event.

With FWA losing to IPW:UK at "Final Frontiers", it essentially lived on as XWA in Morecambe and XS:W in the south. After the series against Burridge and Tyrell ended in another Sudbury 3-way in March, Jonny went into his British Heavyweight Title shot against Brookside on Easter weekend's "War on the Shore III". A epic filled with false finishes and twists to keep the rabid Morecambe fans at fever pitch, Storm finally rolled up Brookside for the 3-count that signified his first ever reign as XWA/FWA British Heavyweight Champion, depsite his 8-year association with the promotion(s). Storm was joined in the ring by every single child in the Morecambe Dome in rapturous celebration.

Storm is currently lined-up as one of 64 entrant in the IPW:UK's year-long tournament to decide the National Champion, with his 1st round match currently scheduled for IPW:UK's "3rd Anniversary Weekender" in September, and will see a new number 1 contender to his own British Heavyweight title determined at that same month's XWA "Battle of Britain".

Two of the top 20 wrestlers in this country can be seen talking to each other blatantly for all to see mid-sleeper hold (1m17s)
I can let the talking off, as can been said, plenty of top names can be caught doing that. I won't let off that weak rear chinlock though, it looked like he was just resting his arms around his neck.

It seemed to be confirmed when The Wrestling Channel aired a special tribute episode of the awful IPW:UK TV series, dedicated to his career and featuring an interview with him at home, where he annoucned his retirement to the world.

I'd like to see this. Anyone got this on DVD?

"With FWA losing to IPW:UK at "Final Frontiers", it essentially lived on as XWA in Morecambe and XS:W in the south." Just to clarify this statement from UKHG's excellent Jonny Storm biog, XS:W and XWA are not connected as such.XWA is the promotion set up to keep the FWA lineage alive, while XS:W is an entirely separate promotion which just happens to be run by former FWA management team member Dann Read. XS:W did step in to run the Sudbury show in March which was previously billed as an FWA show though.

April also saw the "Ressurection" of 1PW, where he and Fleisch were in yet another 1PW mutli-way tag match, falling to FWA Academy teams EntouRAGE (Mark Sloan and Ollie Burns) and the Chavs (Mills and Skinz).

Joey Hayes and Ruffneck were also in that match, making it a 4 team match.

Yes, because now people can actually get the joke. :)I'm actually surprised Jonny came in so high. Nothing against the guy, I just assumed his time as a guy who'd place highly in this kind of thing had passed.
