***************************************************No. 25 - "Vigilante" Johnny Moss2005 Ranking - Not ListedMoving Upjohn-moss-belt.m.jpgA first entry for the Hammerlock regular, and its a good one. Doesn't do a great deal of shows away from this comfort zone, though has appeared for some of the Midlands and Scottish allies, and has previously toured the US. Highest profile match of the last 12 months came last October for MEW, where he faced "Anarchist" Doug Williams in a genuine UK dream match at the MEW "Northern Bash" event. The match had to be seen as somewhat of a let-down, though it was a decent, technically proficient showing. I believe he is currently recognised as the NWA UK Heavyweight Champion...***************************************************

Kinda strange seen him as # 25. This really makes me feel I have to catch him in action one way or another.

No. 24 - "The Human Hate Machine" Dave Moralez

2005 Ranking - 32

Moving Up

promopic.jpg

Currently one half of the IPW-UK Tag Team Champions (with "Sadistic" Jack Storm), Dave Moralez is starting to get himself out and about, and getting noticed, which coincides with an 8-place march up the UKFF 50~!. Angry little man is one quarter of "The Untouchables", an IPW-UK heel faction which consists of himself, Storm, Martin Stone and "Wonderkid" Jonny Storm. He also finds himself teaming with Stone and Jack as part of "Team Charming" in SAS, and he and Jack are also going by the name "Team Supreme" in their 1PW appearances, mainly as Sterling James Keenan's sidekicks. Confused?

"The Human Hate Machine" is almost exclusively a tag team wrestler these days, but that is no bad thing, since he has proved to be incredibly proficient at it. His current tag title reign came at the hands of an imploding AK-47 in February, and he and Jack have looked strong ever since. The way he talks has often led him to be the subject of fun for fans, who come up with names like "Country Boy" and chant things like "Where's Your Tractor?!" and "Ooo Arr!", but the fact that the fans subject Dave to this is surely sign that they have taken him to heart as a heel they can be proud to take the mick out of. Posesses one of the best STOs in UK wrestling, and his double-team "Total Elimination"-style finisher is devastating.

Onwards and upwards, I'm sure...

No. 23 - "The Gift" Ross Jordan

2005 Ranking - 30

Moving Up

The man also known as "Little Dragon" (not to be confused with the IWF/3CW wrestler of the same name, nor the motor-mouthed Scot Ross Gordon), Jordan continues to impress, but still in a very understated way. What do I mean? Well, I don't think people realise just how good he is, and can often be guilty of taking him for granted, while he never stands out as the one you remember.

A wide range of promotions have called on his talents (FWA, IPW-UK, LDN, UKWA, RBW etc) and the last 12 months have seen him win the tournament to crown the first ever FWA Flyweight Champion, defeating Spud in the culmination of a fascinating storyline where he gradually turned himself into a full blown heel piece-by-piece. Enjoyable title-retaining Ladder match victory over Spud in February was followed by a spectacular title-losing 3-way with Pac and Stevie Lynn at "Crunch" in April, and he failed to regain the belt in another decent match with Pac at the last Morecambe Dome show. Probably doesn't look like Sanjay Bagga as much as people say...

No. 22 - El Ligero

2005 Ranking - 42

Moving Up

10.jpg

Ariba!! If you can name a current English promotion that El Ligero hasn't worked for at some point over the last 5 years, you can guarantee that he will be there soon. Started out as the comedy sidekick to JC Thunder, goofing around ringside, before that friendship all went wrong and the two battled each other across the country, most notably in a bloody feud for GPW, where not even the fans were safe from the destruction. Posesses the same pseudo-luchador gimmick that El Generico does, except Ligero has stepped away form the comedy and become less "pseudo" than ever before. Obviously his style bears little resemblance to that of traditional lucha libre, but Ligero is rapidly becoming one of the top babyface underdog performers on the UK scene, and one of the finest high-flying talents. Alliance with daft team The Kraze in 3CW has earned him the nickname of "The Mexican Kraze". Has also earned himself a much-sought-after spot on the 1PW roster of UK workers, taking part in a dazzling, entertaining spot-based elimination match at the last Doncaster double-header. Tornado DDTs his way up an impressive 20 places in the UKFF50~!

No. 21 - Falcon

2005 Ranking - Not Listed (New Entrant)

Moving Up

bio.jpg

A-List member has risen from obscurity to clinch a superb first-ever place in the UKFF 50~! Great showings for SWA and 3CW have made him a huge favourite with those who have seen him, and as word spreads he is sure to earn himself more bookings and more fans in the process. Masked high-flyer is also more than proficient on the mat, and looking to the next 12 months to break out and get noticed.

Yeah~! Great to see Falcon so high, having only recently came across the dude, I've seen him for SWA on tape and live for 3CW and TXW and he's just great. A proper heel high flyer, who knows how to work his big moves in a way to keep his heat. Here's hoping he goes even further by the time the next UKFF 50 rolls around.

Can't wait to see where Darkside finished, definitely one of the most under rated guys on the circuit - Anyone who has seen him knows what I'm talking about!

He can't be that under-rated if he's about to be voted into the top 20 workers in the county, can he?

No. 20 - Sha Samuels

2005 Ranking - Not Listed (New Entrant)

Moving Up

(Left of picture, with Terry Frazier)

"WINNERS~!!1!" One half of The Kartel makes his first appearance in a UKFF 50~!, and it's bound to be controversial. I'll have to admit that I personally was pretty shocked to see him end up so high....though having said that, he and his tag team partner (Terry Frazier) have worked for just about every single southern-based wrestling promotion going, leaving a good lasting impression thanks to their charisma, look, and some of the best tag team performances on the entire UK scene. Another of those to have risen through the Dropkixx school, the bigger, stronger member of The Kartel has toured with AllStar, but is best known for his work for the south-east likes of IPW-UK, SAS, EWW, RAMWA, UKPW etc. He and Frazier also had time to head to Scotland to challenge favourites T2K (Darkside and Wolfgang). Confused a great many people by shaving his head....

No. 19 - "Rowdy" Ricky Knight

2005 Ranking - 7

Moving Down

IMG_3606-medium.jpg

(Right of picture, with Sweet Saraya)

Leader of the famous Knight family, driving force behind the long-running WAW promotion, and icon of British wrestling, Ricky Knight loses his Top 10 spot form last year but still takes a very respectable 19th. Can be seen right now alongside some of his family members and other WAW loyalists every week over the summer on their long-established camp circuit, but also features on other promoters' shows the length and breadth of the country, including, amongst many others, regular appearances this year for RDW in Lincolnshire, Premier in the south, as well as his regular haunts across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. As old school as they come (and I mean that in a good way), Knight was a member of the "Superflys" tag team with Jimmy Ocean in the 80s and early 90s, but remains a top drawer performer and drawing force to this day, which has prompted the FWA, BCW, BOBW etc to call upon his talents. Appears to be focussed just as much on preparing future stars of the business as his own career, perhaps even more so....
