Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted July 21, 2006 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 21, 2006 **********************************************  No. 37 - Bubblegum 2005 Ranking - Not Listed (New Entrant) Moving Up   The little man from Hubba Bubba Land makes his UKFF 50~! debut. A main event player for GPW, and has played a major part in their successful run of monthly shows in Wigan, taking the role of lead babyface and getting incredibly over with the kids and families. Has also appeared for other northern-based promotions such as RBW and FWA, where he took part in the Flyweight Title tournament, and flew over to the Emerald Isle for IWW. His brightly coloured ring attire makes him easy to spot, and the fact he throws candy to the crowds when he enters makes him instantly popular in his underdog role. Quite an under-rated performer, and not particularly well exposed, but the places he does appear, he is undoubtedly a hero.  **********************************************
Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted July 21, 2006 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 21, 2006 **************************************  No. 36 - Ashley Reed 2005 Ranking - Not Listed (New Entrant) Moving Up   Another Dropkixx graduate moves into the UKFF 50~! after an incredibly impressive run of performances. Took part in a match many southern fans deemed to be the Match of the Year for 2005, a 4-team TLC match for IPW-UK. Spent a good few months battling a man he has come up through the ranks with in Paul Robinson, culminating in a dramatic 2 of 3 falls bout in April 2006. Could do with more charisma, but has the UK's No. 1 evil bitch Donna accompany him to make up the full package. Boasts an impressive array of devastating moves, which, unfortunately, have earned this cocky heel increasing babyface reactions. Looked every bit at home in a main event-level match with Pac, Kevin Steen and Takeshi Morishima over the 3CW Title, and went on to face talented and popular SoCal fly-in Scorpio Sky the next month. Exciting and heated feud with Tony Sefton is his current IPW-UK storyline, with the two seemingly intent on killing each other (and possibly large percentages of the audience) at some point over the next few months...Definitely one to watch...  *****************************************
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted July 21, 2006 Paid Members Share Posted July 21, 2006 A couple of things about Bubblegum UKHG. First its Hubbabubbaville not land as far as I know, and I have said it enough times to know, and the northern part of RBW is now NBW and has been for a while. 'Gum is also one half of the NBW tag champs with Stixx and [$hill] You can see them defend the titles on 29th July at Notts County football ground against James Tighe and Kris Travis, doors 6pm start 6.30 [$hill] Sorry abou the $hill Anyway 'Gum is a great babyface and definately one of my favourite guys to watch live. The Fireball
Glad to see Bubblegum get a decent spot in the top 50. I've really enjoyed his stuff in GPW, he really is a great underdog babyface, women and children were crying when he lost to Heresy
Kandiman
Johnny Kidd at #39 is a travesty. For my money he's still THE best worker in the UK. Hopefully Johnny Moss will get a good spot this year. Those two never get the kudos they deserve.Hopefully Ashton Brown and/or David Sharp will finally get the recognition they deserve this year. Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted July 22, 2006 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 22, 2006 (edited) Hopefully Ashton Brown and/or David Sharp will finally get the recognition they deserve this year. Then you haven't been paying attention: the actual 50 was determined and announced a few weeks ago, its just the order that you don't know yet...And with that, on we go:************************************************No. 35 - Conscience2005 Ranking - 43Moving UpOne of, if not the best character performer on the UK scene, this big Scotsman calls SWA his home. Known as the "Last True Phenom", Conscience employs a deliberate, slow-paced power approach which has seen him win just about every singles championship going north of the border. Has also made frequent trips to England, where he has appeared in the Midlands, and has also been a major player in 3CW, where his feuds over the last year, first with Alex Shane and then with Gabriel Grey's Damned Nation, made him a clear crowd favourite. Recently turned on the fans and re-invented himself as "The Pryor". In Scotland, he seems to be heading for a high-profile clash with Majik and the Sinners. Not the most technically adept, though he often tries to "prove" that he can mat wrestle with the best of them, but instead creates a connection with his audiences through strong character-led in-ring performances. Moves up 8 places from last year...*********************************************** Edited July 22, 2006 by UK Hat Guy

Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted July 22, 2006 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 22, 2006 (edited) ***********************************************  No. 34 - Curve 2005 Ranking - Not Listed (New Entrant) Moving Up   Most famous for being a part of the New Breed tag team (with Ashe) that wrestled for just about everyone during the "Nu Era" of British wrestling (1999-2001), Curve spent several years in singles competition, often using his alernate ring name/gimmick "The Playboy" Phil Bedwell (groan). However, it was about 1 year ago that he and Ashe reunited one of the most influential and popular teams in UK wrestling...only to find that most people were new to the scene and had never heard of them. Having said that, they are quickly re-establishing themselves as something worth seeing, after challenging Stixx and Stone for the FWA Tag Team titles in a decent match, and recently reuniting as heels in IPW-UK after a fantastic storyline where Ashe turned on his new partner Kris Linnell (in Ashe's new team - AK47) which came to a head in a killer angle in May. Curve also finds time to concentrate on his escalating singles career too, being a top line player in the resurrected EWW and is soon to be a TV star with LDN Wrestling. The above picture is out-of-date, since he has recently cut his hair to something a lot more socially acceptable...  ******************************************** Edited July 22, 2006 by UK Hat Guy
Guest JCThunder...WrestlingGod
Ashley Reed should be a lot higher...he has been cheered in IPW because he has talent, which a lot of independant promotions fans do, as in feds like WWE people cheer who they are supposed to (most of the time) but for feds like TNA, PWG, IPW etc, fans dont really cheer who we are supposed to because we like to show appreciation for peoples wrestling skill rather than their face/heel status...thats my opinion anyways.Hopefully Reed will be higher next year as he is only gonna get even better! claymore
Conscience didn't turn on the fans. His character went in a darker direction, but he's still one of the biggest faces on the SWA roster.
