Admin Moo Posted August 4, 2005 Admin Posted August 4, 2005 Full Throttle was one of my fave Lucasarts games. That ruled."You know where that nose ring would look really good?... ON THE BAR"Beautiful graphical style, lovely cutscenes, great characters. A little on the easy side but a whole buncha fun. Yeah it was easy but sometimes that's a good thing. Nothing worse than a TOTALLY illogical solution to a problem which has to be solved using brute force by trying literally *everything* possible.I remember being amazed by the roadrash type bit on the demo, that sold me & my dad right then and there.
Spatular Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Nothing worse than a TOTALLY illogical solution to a problem which has to be solved using brute force by trying literally *everything* possible. Yes. This is completely different from having hard but logical puzzles. Unfortunately, that's the category in which I think MI2 belongs.Spitting competition, anyone?
Mitch Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Sadly the third game didn't do the best sales wise which sent shockwaves through the industry and was almost certaintly responsible for the decision to can the new Sam and Max game. But, ah-ha, the author recently re-acquired the rights to the Sam & Max brand so he's off developing again. Yeah saw that on Game Central after I posted! I see he works at Pixar, wonder if they will get involved, would look gorgeous.
Guest KWF Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Has anyone got a PS1 version of Broken Sword 1? I really want it, my first one was copied and my chipped playstation broke so i had to throw it out. I have got the other 2 games on PS and i want the first one. If anyone has it I'll buy it off you, if you are willing. I need to find out the secret of the knights templar again.
Mitch Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Its much better value on PC, Broken Sword 1 and 2 are in the bargain bin 'Sold Out' range and many chain stores like GAME do 3 for
Mitch Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I didn't like the step up to 3D graphics, with keyboard controls. It looked ugly, and rather than getting pulled in and believing I was really on a great pirate adventure, I just felt like I was playing a game. :(It was really funny at times though, and I'm sure if they made it today it'd look a lot better. The atmosphere of the game was killed for me with the 3D graphics though, because 3D still looked pretty ugly until a year or two ago.MI2 was really hard at times, but surely the whole fun of an adventure game is sitting there for hours at a time not actually doing anything, browsing the same screens for days, trying every combination of item on item until something comes up. An adventure game wouldn't be complete without a stupidly hard puzzle or two.(Unless it involves a goat in Broken Sword.) Every month there would be someone asking in a video game mag cheat page 'how do I get past the goat in broken sword'My worst one was in Broken Sword 2 with some wee warthog I think. I spent hours trying to find out what to do then I read a guide, I had inadvertently made a mistake on the screen with the warthog which made getting any further in the game impossible My last save was miles back as well
Guest KWF Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 The goat is easy. I have passed all 3 games but i want to do them all over again. I thought the end bit on Broken Sword 2 was hard in the pyramid. I got lost and it was like a maze. Or even the marings you had to match up, that took me ages to do.
Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted August 4, 2005 Moderators Posted August 4, 2005 I'm still playing the shit out of PES4.
Guest amg Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Just played Fifa 2005 on my cousins imported PSP (first time played PSP). Pretty good graphics but the gameplay is waayyy to slow for my liking. Im still thinking wether to get a PSP or not.Anyone here placed orders for it?

Admin Moo Posted August 4, 2005 Admin Posted August 4, 2005 Sony have really dropped the ball with the PSP thus far I feel. Not only have they stuffed up the European launch but the sheer lack of games for it is quite staggering. You only have to look at the reviews on IGN to see just how little is getting released.I hope the situation improves soon because apart from Lumines I'm just not playing it at all.
Van Dammer Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Does anyone know a site that does review of most PS2 games? I cant decide whether to get EA's Cricket 2005 or Brian Lara Cricket 2005.

Guest amg Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 (edited) Does anyone know a site that does review of most PS2 games? I cant decide whether to get EA's Cricket 2005 or Brian Lara Cricket 2005.Just put them into google.co.uk (along with review at the end) and you'll get tons of results. I've only tried the demo of Brian Lara but so far its fuking class, im definatly getting it. But anyway, I would always stay loyal to Brain Lara because I had the very first one for PS1 (which turned out to be a classic!). This version is definately better than Cricket 2005. sgmilne Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Cheers for the tip about where to get the software to play Day of the Tentacle.Played it today and completed it (admittedly i remembered most of the puzzles, even though I got it about 10 years ago).Seems a tad disappointing after all these years.
