FTR2020 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I have just started a new save with AEW on TEW 2020 and I was just wondering if anyone in here plays TEW? What mod are you using? What promotion are you? What's going on in your save? I have only just started but I have the most up to date mod from the great people of Real World Chronicles and currently AEW don't have any men's Tag Team champions so I have started a tournament for them with the aim of have my newly named team of Mark Davis and Jake Doyle (House Of Violence) win the titles and have a big run. I am thinking of putting them vs The Hurt Syndicate in the final. That will be a great big boy meat slapping meat match. I also have the TBS title vacant but I am trying to figure out what to do with that. I have just called up Athena from ROH and I want to give her a big push. I have always enjoyed fantasy booking wrestling shows. I used to do the e-fed stuff back in the day as well. No worries if nobody wants to contribute. I just thought I would post my updates here about how I am doing. I will put down my first ppv card once I have booked it. Quote
MungoChutney Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I've played on and off since the old EWR days. The latest version I have is TEW 2016 though. I find it hard to commit the time needed for a proper save now, but I dive into the odd 90s real-world database now and again. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 11 Paid Members Posted July 11 I haven't played it in about 25 years, but it was fun. I should have a look at getting hold of it again, maybe. Quote

I would still say they had it right with EWR and then made it long winded when they made TEW but you should definitely give it a go and see if you like it. There are so many modern and historical real world mods and also non-real world mods as well called C-Verse. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 12 Paid Members Posted July 12 I had a quick look and they're asking over £20 for it. It's a bit rich for my tastes. Quote

Merzbow Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Journey of Wrestling is probably the best middle ground between a GM mode and the Excel Spreadsheet that TEW became, it has some depth and made great by the community with a bunch of stellar real world scenarios all over the time periods built in rather than having to download data packs. Can be played in a browser or via a download on Steam. Quote
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I have always fancied playing TEW but never got round to it. Are the mods easy to get hold of and easy to install? Quote

I know what my attention span can be like as well. I put loads of time into EWR back in the day, but I have a lot more entertainment choices now. Plus, I don't always have that kind of money going spare. Quote

Then it's basically a unzip zip file and copy and paste/move to the TEW folders in your computer. Quote

Cheers for recommending it. 1 hour ago, Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz said: I have always fancied playing TEW but never got round to it. Are the mods easy to get hold of and easy to install? Yeah you can find mods on the Greydogsoftware forums or just Google tew mods as there are plenty of resources websites. If you get stuck then feel free to ask in here. 39 minutes ago, Jazzy G said: I know what my attention span can be like as well. I just found it funny you thought £20 was expensive for a game. I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. Money is tight for everyone. I get that buddy. Quote
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Thank you both, will look into it nearer payday Quote
Liam O'Rourke Posted August 4 Posted August 4 For whatever reason I've always thought converting databases from previous games would be a pain in the arse so never bothered. But I really wanted to play the 1993 mod on TEW IX and went through the process and sure enough, within ten minutes we're in and having a grand old time. Been playing nonstop for the last few days figuring out how the WWF should look after Mania IX, very satisfying. Quote
Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted August 4 Paid Members Posted August 4 I'm sad I never finished my old crested mod for the TEW before last, was over 750 wrestlers, was working well in runs just didn't get it finished and branched out enough. Maybe when I pick a laptop up again I'll go back and try and create an original mod starting in the 1970s, that's always been my dream for TEW Quote
