I've re-watched it since and it's not actually that good but at the time it felt so fresh and exciting. Proper emotion, a new presentation and loads of blood which we hadn't seen in mainstream wrestling for years all at a time when WWE had been fucking shite for what felt like forever. Quote

WWE became the only place for so long that they'll always be the big dog unless something world changing ends them. What's improved is the budget and quality of the alternative options. AEW doesn't look as low rent as TNA did in their competition years AND it's obviously carved it's own identity, whilst taking the better aspects of WCW that TNA embraced the bad parts. But WWE will probably always be the big brand until TKO sells it for parts or something unknown to us occurs. Quote

The business would have to change significantly in order for AEW to come even remotely close to beating WWE in the ratings, even if WWE are putting out a sub par product. Quote
