lanky316 Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Growing up my parents were regulars at Newmarket races, every time on the way there we'd have to go through Six Mile Bottom, or as my dad always called it "48 Furlong Arse". Every time without fail, to the extent that I grew up thinking that was the actual name of the village, as if the real name wasn't amusing enough to a kid. One that I don't really know where it started is that if anyone starts ranting about something I'll add "said Thomas" in a piss poor Ringo Starr impression, the less Thomas the Tank Engine the better. "What a stupid fuckwit Elon Musk is!" always is irrationally hilarious with that little ending. Predating Trumps more recent confusion, I have always referred to people, usually the more irritating reality tv show personalities who get every where but also including many fictional characters and most crucially are not actually dead as "the late, great". Some delightful soul posted the comment: "Terry Wagwan". Still chuckling away. It's so good. He used to do a Terry Wogan's Pirate Radio Takeover segment on his radio show which I love. Quote
TheHighlightReel Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 On the rare occasions that I do the cooking at home it is usually a pasta based meal. I will always ask my long suffering partner how many handfuls of pasta she thinks I should use? After the first few times she quickly learned the correct answer is Fusilli. Quote
