Couldn't play it for extended periods because it's just so scary in VR. I bought it during the last sale and still haven't had the balls to play it. Retro Red
Advice for quest users, if you can have a wireless streaming setup from your pc then I would recommend buying beat saber on steam rather than quest, simply for the ability to mod and add songs to the library. Really good fun and it’s helped get both my girls and my wife into vr as well.
Paid Members CoreyVandal Posted January 9, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted January 9, 2021 I got a PSVR last year but I've struggled to get as into it as I'd hoped. I can handle the motion sickness, but the neck and headache it gives me after a while tends to put me off using it. It also feels like I'm viewing the world through an uncomfortable welding mask, and I just don't seem to have the coordination to use the move controllers properly without being able to see them. I'm hoping this all stuff that can be rectified by time, patience and perhaps a different VR system, but if I'm being completely honest it's just made me and my broken body more grateful for how little physical movement gaming requires. That said, VR porn is top notch!
Paid Members BigJag Posted June 19, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2021 I've just seen that Beat Saber is available on PSVR. I remember really enjoying the game when I played it at Arcade Club. Has anyone played it on PSVR? Would it be worth investing in a PSVR to play Beat Sabre? I have a PS4. Retro Red
So I play it most evenings but that’s on the Quest. It’s great fun, but without the option to add custom songs/maps I don’t know about the longevity of it. It’s not worth the cost of the Psvr for that specifically but if there are other titles grabbing your interest then yes, but you might be worth going for the quest. The psvr version I assume needs the move controllers which are quite pricy. Edited June 19, 2021 by Bicurious Dad
RedRooster
Having owned both a Quest and PS VR, I much preferred the Quest version of Beat Sabre due to the lack of wires. As far as longevity goes, without customisation it definitely loses something. It’s still a brilliant game, but there are only so many times you can listen to the same songs.
Retro Red
There’s a strong mapping community out there too, thousands of maps and a central website to search them. There’s going to be support for downloading custom maps from within the game itself as well once the next version of the ‘modded’ quest version once it gets released.
