Pettis vs Alvarez promo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&persist_app=1&v=Fs9wnHK3Tu0

Can't wait for this one. Can't see past Pettis winning but it should be great for however long it lasts. You never know either, how does Pettis rebound from the Dos Anjos loss? I'd think he'll bounce back well but he's never been dominated like he was in the RDA fight before.

Assuming they're both on point though, I think Pettis is just a bit too sharp and unpredictable on the feet for Alvarez, who often gets tagged quite a bit in fights. And I can't see Alvarez having as much success with his grappling as RDA had with his. It's a tough fight for Alvarez. I'm a big fan of both but I'd love to see Alvarez pull off the upset, to be honest. It'd be a great story after all the shit he went through with Bellator.

Does anyone watch BJJScout's stuff on YouTube?

Here's his breakdown of Dominick Cruz's movement. Excuse the annoying music, the actual content is interesting though. Loads of little touches and subtle nuances borrowed from top boxers in there like Muhammad Ali and Roy Jones Jr that you mightn't pick up on when you watch him fight.

Part 1 - Stances, Footwork and Takedowns

Part 2 - Footwork and Counter Strategy

Cruz's style has always interested me. It looks really awkward and uncoordinated sometimes but there's clearly a well thought out method to everything he does. Nothing is just random. Looking back, Cruz was way ahead of the game when it comes to movement and footwork in MMA. It's become much more prominent now with the likes of McGregor and Dillashaw emphasising the importance of effective movement but Cruz was doing that shit years ago. Got to be one of the most intelligent fighters in the sport.

any wagers on this? Dominic Cruz is a slight underdog in the main event so he'll be going on my slip. Looking to trim it down to a treble. Thinking Cruz, Saunders & Some Fucker. £10 returns around £50.

Anyone else worried that we just end up seeing 25 minutes of two guys Irish jigging and throwing the odd punch?

Totally. Not sure if even they can do that for 5 full rounds, though.

Cruz has done in plenty of times in the past.

Against someone else doing the same thing? One of them will have to become the aggressor eventually.
