Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 26, 2013 Author Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2013 That's alright. I'm OK with double standards. I guess it would be acceptable for you to like Mumford and Sons if you were fifteen. But we're grown ass men (who are still allowed to like the rubbish music we liked in our teens due to nostalgia reasons).

Magnum
I love Counting Crows. I didn't know they were considered actively offensive, but I'm in my 30s so I'm sketchy as fuck about what's considered cool in music these days. My only vague awareness of it is that the fact I hate The Strokes doesn't seem to go down that well with the hipsters.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 26, 2013 Author Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2013 I don't know if they are generally considered offensive.. My brother likes them and I really loathe them.
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted February 26, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted February 26, 2013 I don't think they're offensive, just that their sound is very 90's. I was massively into them when I was about 18/19 & am pretty much going to this gig for nostalgia purposes. I don't need the same level of hopeless romantic angst in my music that I did as a teenager.

Having checked the lyrics, i havent a fucking clue where i got that impression.  For the record, i am BORED AS FUCK. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 26, 2013 Author Moderators Share Posted February 26, 2013 That annoying shitty song has been intermittently popping into my head since I first made that Counting Crows post.
Paid Members John Matrix Posted February 26, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted February 26, 2013 As far as iconic songs from 90's bands that looked like buskers go, it's second only to Two Princes by the Spin Doctors. Â Also from that era, Roll to Me by Del Amitri was a fucking belter.
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted February 26, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted February 26, 2013 You can add - Â 'Only Wanna Be With You - Hootie & the Blowfish' 'My Own Worst Enemy - Lit' 'Every Day Is A Winding Road - Sheryl Crow' 'Into Your Arms - The Lemonheads' 'Where I Find My Heaven - Gigalo Aunts' Â 90's gold. Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 26, 2013 Awards Moderator Share Posted February 26, 2013 I reckon you can throw 'Breakfast At Tiffany's by Deep Blue Something, 'Wake Up' by the Boo Radleys, 'Good Enough' by Dodgy, and that New Radicalz one into the mix. Â Oh, and 'Brimful of Asha'. Â EDIT: And I'll not have a word said against the Spin Doctors!
Guy Bifkin
Yeah all that shit was massive when I was at Uni, along with the tortured grunge rumblings of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Stone Bong.
